The present invention relates to an electrode active material, an electrode and an electrical storage device. The electrode active material includes a carbon material and has not less than 0.020 mmol/g of basic functional groups.

1 . An electrode active material, comprising a carbon material and basic functional groups of from 0.020 to 0.20 mmol/g. 2 . (canceled) 3 . The electrode active material according to claim 1 , wherein the carbon material is a composite carbon material comprising two or more kinds of carbon materials. 4 . The electrode active material according to claim 1 , wherein the carbon material is a composite carbon material that comprises a core-forming carbon material and a coating carbon material for coating at least a part of the core-forming carbon material. 5 . The electrode active material according to claim 1 , which has a 50% volume cumulative diameter D50 of from 1 to 5 μm. 6 . An electrode, comprising the electrode active material according to claim 1 . 7 . An electrical storage device comprising the electrode according to claim 6 as a negative electrode. 8 . The electrode active material according to claim 1 , which has a volume of macropores with 50 to 400 nm pore diameter of from 0.01 to 0.40 cc/g.
