A fuel tank for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The fuel tank may have a first fuel compartment defining a first convex volume. The first convex volume may be configured to provide fuel having a first fuel temperature to the internal combustion engine. The fuel tank may also have a second fuel compartment defining a second convex volume. The second fuel compartment may be disposed above the first fuel compartment. The second fuel compartment may also be configured to receive excess fuel from the internal combustion engine. The excess fuel may have a second fuel temperature higher than the first fuel temperature. In addition, the fuel tank may have a fluid passage configured to fluidly connect a first gravitationally upper most portion of the first fuel compartment to a second gravitationally upper most portion of the second fuel compartment.
