Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

An example operation includes one or more of linking a mobile device and a vehicle, configuring, on the mobile device, a data service request, receiving at a controller area network of the vehicle the data service request from the mobile device, and displaying within the vehicle a data set responsive to the configuring.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1 . A method, comprising: receiving a request from a first mobile device linked to a first vehicle by a controller area network (CAN) bus of the first vehicle, wherein the first mobile device configures the request before being sent to the CAN BUS, and wherein a processor of the first vehicle receives the request from the CAN bus; in response to the request, generating a first configured data set by configuring a data set associated with the request by the processor; and controlling a display device by the processor to display the first configured data set; determining the first mobile device is not in the first vehicle; determining the first mobile device is in BLUETOOTH communication range of a second vehicle, wherein the first vehicle and the second vehicle are commonly owned; and transferring the request from the first mobile device to the second vehicle. 2 . The method of claim 1 , comprising: determining that the first mobile device and a second mobile device are in the first vehicle; generating a modified request by modifying the request based on a combination of the first mobile device and the second mobile device; and displaying modified data based on the modified request. 3 . The method of claim 1 , where the generating the first configured data set comprises: configuring the data set using a profile of a user of the first vehicle. 4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the request includes a purchased service, and wherein the method further comprises: determining that the second vehicle is eligible to receive the purchased service based on an identified relationship with the first vehicle; notifying the second vehicle about the request; and displaying data responsive to the purchased service in the second vehicle. 5 . The method of claim 1 , comprising: receiving a profile of a user of the first vehicle from the first mobile device; determining an area of concern associated with the first vehicle based on the profile; and responsive to a threshold associated with the area of concern being crossed, causing the display device to display the area of concern and a data value, from the first configured data set, related to the area of concern. 6 . The method of claim 1 , comprising: linking the first vehicle to a second mobile device; receiving a different request from the second mobile device by the CAN bus; in response to the different request, generating a second configured data set by configuring a second data set associated with the different request; and controlling the display device to display one of the first configured data set or the second configured data set that has been identified for display. 7 . A system, comprising: a memory storing instructions; and a processor in communication with the memory, wherein the instructions configure the processor to: receive a request from a first mobile device linked to a first vehicle by a controller area network (CAN) bus of the first vehicle, wherein the first mobile device configures the request before being sent to the CAN BUS, and wherein the processor receives the request from the CAN bus; in response to the request, modify a data set associated with the request to generate a first configured data set; and control a display device to display the first configured data set; determine that the first mobile device is not in the first vehicle; determine that the first mobile device is in BLUETOOTH communication range of a second vehicle, wherein the first vehicle and the second vehicle are commonly owned; and transferring the request from the first mobile device to the second vehicle. 8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the processor is configured to: determine that the first mobile device and a second mobile device are in the first vehicle; modify the request based on a combination of the first mobile device and the second mobile device to generate a modified request; and display modified data based on the modified request. 9 . The system of claim 7 , wherein when the processor generates the first configured data set, the processor is configured to: configure the data set using a profile of a user of the first vehicle. 10 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the request includes a purchased service, and wherein the processor is configured to: determine that the second vehicle is eligible to receive the purchased service based on an identified relationship with the first vehicle; notify the second vehicle about the request; and display data responsive to the purchased service in the second vehicle. 11 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the processor is configured to: receive a profile of a user of the first vehicle from the first mobile device; determine an area of concern associated with the first vehicle based on the profile; and responsive to a threshold associated with the area of concern being crossed, cause the display device to display the area of concern and a data value, from the first configured data set, related to the area of concern. 12 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the processor is configured to: link the first vehicle to a second mobile device; receive a different request from the second mobile device by the CAN bus; in response to the different request, modify a second data set associated with the different request to generate a second configured data set; and control the display device to display one of the first configured data set or the second configured data set that has been identified for display. 13 . A computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed by a processor associated with a first vehicle, cause the processor to perform: receiving a request from a mobile device linked to a first vehicle by a controller area network (CAN) bus of the first vehicle, wherein the first mobile device configures the request before being sent to the CAN BUS, and wherein a processor of the first vehicle receives the request from the CAN bus; in response to the request, generating a first configured data set by configuring a data set associated with the request by the processor; and controlling a display device by the processor to display the first configured data set; determining the first mobile device is not in the first vehicle; determining the first mobile device is in BLUETOOTH communication range of a second vehicle, wherein the first vehicle and the second vehicle are commonly owned; transferring the request from the first mobile device to the second vehicle. 14 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the instructions cause the processor to perform: determining that the first mobile device and a second mobile device are in the first vehicle; generating a modified request by modifying the request based on a combination of the first mobile device and the second mobile device; and displaying modified data based on the modified request. 15 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the generating of the first configured data set comprises: configuring the data set using a profile of a user of the first vehicle. 16 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the request includes a purchased service, and wherein the instructions cause the processor to perform: determining that the second vehicle is eligible to receive the purchased service based on an identified relationship with the first vehicle; notifying the second vehicle about the request; and displaying data responsive to the purchased service in the sec
