Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Example embodiments of systems and methods for data transmission between a contactless card, a client device, and one or more servers are provided. The contactless card may include one or more processors and memory, which may include one or more applets. The client device may include one or more processors and memory. The client device may be in data communication with the contactless card. One or more servers may be in data communication with the client device. A first set of information may be transmitted from the contactless card to the client device. The first set of information may include one or more links to activate the contactless card via a designated email program. Upon validation of the first set of information by the one or more servers, the contactless card may be activated.

What is claimed is: 1 . A card activation system comprising: a contactless card including one or more processors and memory, wherein the memory contains one or more applets; and one or more servers, wherein the one or more applets of the contactless card are configured to transmit a set of information to the one or more servers via a client application executing on a client device, after entry of the contactless card into a communication field generated by the client device, the set of information comprising a link including a first information element corresponding to an email address, a second information element corresponding to an email field, and an encrypted third information element, wherein the one or more servers are configured to: receive the set of information, decrypt the encrypted third information element using one or more keys, and validate the set of information, wherein upon the validation of the set of information the contactless card is activated. 2 . The card activation system of claim 1 , wherein an email, associated with the email address, is dynamically generated. 3 . The card activation system of claim 1 , wherein the link comprises a uniform resource locator that is dynamically generated to activate the contactless card. 4 . The card activation system of claim 1 , wherein the set of information comprises a card verification value to activate the contactless card. 5 . The card activation system of claim 2 , wherein a list including a plurality of email addresses is received from the contactless card. 6 . The card activation system of claim 5 , wherein the email address is selected from the list based on a purpose of authentication. 7 . The card activation system of claim 1 , wherein the contactless card is configured to stop dynamic generation of the set of information after the client application receives notification from the one or more servers that the contactless card is activated. 8 . The card activation system of claim 6 , wherein the purpose of authentication comprises at least one selected from the group of a user status and an account status. 9 . A method of activating a contactless card, the method comprising the steps of: entering, by the contactless card, into a communication field generated by a client device; transmitting, by one or more applets contained in a memory of the contactless card, a set of information via a client application executing on the client device to one or more servers, the set of information comprising a link including a first information element corresponding to an email address, a second information element corresponding to an email field, and an encrypted third information element configured to activate the contactless card; performing, by the one or more servers, one or more cryptographic operations to validate the set of information, the one or more cryptographic operations including decrypting the encrypted third information element using one or more keys; and activating, by the one or more servers, the contactless card upon validation of the set of information. 10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the email address is retrieved from a pre-configured list. 11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the set of information comprises a uniform resource locator that is dynamically generated to activate the contactless card. 12 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the set of information comprises a card verification value to activate the contactless card. 13 . The method of claim 9 , wherein a list including a plurality of email addresses is received from the contactless card and the email address is selected from the list based on a purpose of authentication. 14 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the contactless card is configured to stop dynamic generation of the set of information after the client application receives notification from the one or more servers that the contactless card is activated. 15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the purpose of authentication comprises at least one selected from the group of a card expiration date, a card activation date, and a card replacement issuance. 16 . A contactless card, comprising: a processor; and a memory, wherein the memory contains one or more applets and a set of information, wherein, after entry of the contactless card into a communication field, the one or more applets are configured to transmit the set of information, wherein the set of information comprises a link including a first information element and an encrypted second information element, and wherein the first information element comprises an email address and the second information element comprises an encrypted payload configured for decryption using one or more keys. 17 . The contactless card of claim 16 , wherein the link comprises a uniform resource locator that is dynamically generated to activate the contactless card. 18 . The contactless card of claim 16 , wherein the set of information comprises a card verification value to activate the contactless card. 19 . The contactless card of claim 16 , wherein the email address is retrieved from a pre-configured list of email addresses stored on the contactless card. 20 . The contactless card of claim 19 , wherein the email address is selected from the pre-configured list of email addresses based on at least one selected from a group of transaction information and account information.
