Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Disclosed are systems and method for determining information related to building materials based on determined measurements from a multi-dimensional building model comprising features and elements embodying such materials and measurements. The multi-dimensional model may be based on a plurality of received images, such as ground-based images of a building. The multi-dimensional model may be scaled, or a scale extracted based on data of the model. The multi-dimensional model may comprise architectural elements, and the scale used to determine measurements of such architectural elements. With the scaled measurements of the architectural elements in the model, product information related to multi-dimensional model and its elements may be derived and combined in alternative means.

What is claimed is: 1 . A computer-implemented method of ordering building materials based on imagery, the method comprising: receiving a plurality of two-dimensional (2D) captured building images, wherein the plurality of 2D images view one or more architectural elements of the captured building from different perspectives; generating, from the plurality of 2D captured building images, a scaled digital three-dimensional (3D) building model comprising 3D measurements using a scale metric extracted from at least one of the 2D captured building images, wherein the scaled 3D building model includes the one or more architectural elements present in the 2D captured building images and the scale metric is derived from a pixel dimension of a first architectural element of the one or more architectural elements, and wherein extracting the scale metric comprises transforming the pixel dimension into a measurement of the 3D measurements; calculating measurements of at least one other of the one or more architectural elements located within the scaled 3D building model based on the geometric relationship of the at least one other of the one or more architectural elements to the first architectural element in the 3D building model, the measurements of the one or more other architectural elements based on the 3D measurements; and generating cost information associated with manufacturer product information based on the calculated measurements of the at least one of the one or more other architectural elements. 2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of 2D captured building images comprises aerial images. 3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of 2D captured building images comprises ground-level images. 4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein generating, from the plurality of 2D captured building images, the 3D building model comprises assessing scale from at least one image of the plurality of 2D captured building images. 5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising correlating at least one 2D captured building image of the plurality of 2D captured building images with the scaled 3D building model. 6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the manufacturer product information comprises information from one or more providers of manufacturer products. 7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising generating an aggregated dimension for each architectural element, within the scaled 3D building model, belonging to a classification of architectural element type. 8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising quantifying a number of architectural elements, within the scaled 3D building model, belonging to a classification of architectural element type. 9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising generating an aggregated dimension for each architectural element, within the scaled 3D building model, belonging to the classification of architectural element type. 10 . One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform a method of ordering building materials based on imagery, the method comprising: receiving a plurality of two-dimensional (2D) captured building images, wherein the plurality of 2D images view one or more architectural elements of the captured building from different perspectives; generating, from the plurality of 2D captured building images, a scaled digital three-dimensional (3D) building model comprising 3D measurements using a scale metric extracted from at least one of the 2D captured building images, wherein the scaled 3D building model includes the one or more architectural elements present in the 2D captured building images and the scale metric is derived from a pixel dimension of a first architectural element of the one or more architectural elements, and wherein extracting the scale metric comprises transforming the pixel dimension into a measurement of the 3D measurements; calculating measurements of at least one other of the one or more architectural elements located within the scaled 3D building model based on the geometric relationship of the at least one other of the one or more architectural elements to the first architectural element in the 3D building model, the measurements of the one or more other architectural elements based on the 3D measurements; and generating cost information associated with manufacturer product information based on the calculated measurements of the at least one of the one or more other architectural elements. 11 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 10 , wherein the plurality of 2D captured building images comprises aerial images. 12 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 10 , wherein the plurality of 2D captured building images comprises ground-level images. 13 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 10 , wherein generating, from the plurality of 2D captured building images, the scaled 3D building model comprises assessing scale from at least one image of the plurality of 2D captured building images. 14 .
