A semicrystalline copolyester resin composition formed by twin screw extrusion of various ingredients includes copolyester resins, antiblock, slip and antifog additives. This semicrystalline copolyester resin can be extruded on to PET film or coextruded with PET resin to form clear PET films with antifog properties. These films with antifog properties are produced in a single step without the use of solvent and does not involve any secondary step for coating a separate antifog layer. This minimizes the cost and time required by a converter to make such clear antifog films. These films containing the heat seal copolyester resin can be heat sealed to clear APET trays. Contents within the trays, such as food, can be seen without fogging on the inside of the film that is used to seal the tray. The seals are strong and the peels are smooth giving a very good packaging performance.

I claim: 1 . A laminate comprising a polyester resin film and a heat sealable film wherein the heat sealable film comprises about 0.1 to about 5 wt % of an antifog additive, wherein the heat sealable film is formed from a copolyester mixture comprising 70% to 99.8% by weight of a semi-crystalline copolyester resin component. 2 . The laminate of claim 1 having excellent clarity and good antifog exhibiting a haze % as described herein of no more than 10.23. 3 . The laminate of claim 1 wherein the laminate comprises a clear heat sealable polyester lidding film. 4 . The laminate of claim 1 wherein a surface of the heat sealable film comprises a hydrophilic surface. 5 . The laminate according to claim 1 wherein the heat sealable film has a thickness corresponding to a coating weight of at least about 1.0 lb/ream up to about 10.0 lb/ream. 6 . The laminate according to claim 1 wherein the laminate has a bond strength in excess of about 200 grams per linear inch at bond sealing temperatures of 121° C. 7 . The laminate according to claim 1 wherein the copolyester mixture of the heat sealable film further comprises about 10% to about 30% by weight of an amorphous copolyester resin. 8 . The laminate of claim 1 capable of being sealed at a temperature of about 121° C. to about 163° C. 9 . A laminate comprising a polyester resin film and a heat sealable film wherein the heat sealable film comprises a hydrophilic surface, wherein the heat sealable film is formed from a copolyester mixture comprising 70% to 99.8% by weight of a semi-crystalline copolyester resin component. 10 . The laminate according to claim 9 wherein the heat sealable film having a thickness corresponding to a coating weight of up to 10 pounds/ream. 11 . The laminate of claim 9 comprises a biaxially oriented film. 12 . The laminate of claim 9 capable of exhibiting a bond strength in excess of about 200 grams per linear inch at bond sealing temperatures of 121° C. 13 . The laminate of claim 9 capable of being sealed at a temperature of about 121° C. to about 163° C. 14 . The laminate of claim 9 wherein the heat sealable film comprises an antifog additive. 15 . The laminate of claim 9 wherein the heat sealable film is devoid of an antifog coating. 16 . The laminate according to claim 9 having excellent clarity and good antifog exhibiting a haze % as described herein of no more than 10.23. 17 . The laminate of claim 9 wherein the laminate comprises a clear heat sealable polyester lidding film. 18 . The laminate according to claim 9 wherein the heat sealable film has a thickness corresponding to a coating weight of at least about 1.0 lb/ream up to about 10.0 lb/ream. 19 . The laminate according to claim 9 wherein the copolyester mixture of the heat sealable film further comprises about 10% to about 30% by weight of an amorphous copolyester resin.
