A hybrid sweet corn plant, designated SPRITZ is disclosed. The disclosure relates to the seeds of hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ, to the plants and plant parts of hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ, and to methods for producing a sweet corn plant by crossing the hybrid sweet corn SPRITZ with itself or another sweet corn plant.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1 . A seed of hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ, wherein a representative sample of seed of said hybrid has been deposited under NCIMB No. 44417. 2 . A sweet corn plant, a part thereof, or a cell thereof, produced by growing the seed of claim 1 , wherein said plant, part thereof, or cell thereof has all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ deposited under NCIMB No. 44417. 3 . The sweet corn plant or the part thereof of claim 2 , wherein the part is selected from the group consisting of a leaf, a flower, an ear, a kernel, a stalk, a root, a rootstock, a scion, a peduncle, a stamen, a pistil, and a meristem. 4 . A tissue culture of regenerable cells produced from the sweet corn plant or the part thereof of claim 2 , wherein a sweet corn plant regenerated from the tissue culture has all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ deposited under NCIMB No. 44417. 5 . A sweet corn ear produced from the plant of claim 2 . 6 . A method for harvesting a sweet corn ear, the method comprising: (a) growing the sweet corn plant of claim 2 to produce a sweet corn ear, and (b) harvesting said sweet corn ear. 7 . A sweet corn ear produced by the method of claim 6 . 8 . A method for producing a sweet corn seed, the method comprising: (a) crossing a first sweet corn plant with a second sweet corn plant and (b) harvesting the resultant sweet corn seed, wherein said first sweet corn plant and/or second sweet corn plant is the sweet corn plant of claim 2 . 9 . A method for producing a sweet corn seed, the method comprising: (a) self-pollinating the sweet corn plant of claim 2 and (b) harvesting the resultant sweet corn seed. 10 . A method of vegetatively propagating the sweet corn plant of claim 2 , the method comprising: (a) collecting a part capable of being vegetatively propagated from the plant of claim 2 and (b) regenerating a plant from said part. 11 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising (c) harvesting an ear from said regenerated plant. 12 . A plant obtained from the method of claim 10 , wherein said plant has all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ deposited under NCIMB No. 44417. 13 . An ear obtained from the method of claim 11 . 14 . A method of producing a progeny sweet corn plant obtained from hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ, the method comprising: (a) self-pollinating the plant of claim 2 at least once to produce a progeny plant. 15 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising the steps of: (b) crossing the progeny plant obtained from the hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ with itself or a second sweet corn plant to produce a seed of progeny plant of a subsequent generation; (c) growing the progeny plant of the subsequent generation from the seed; (d) crossing the progeny plant of the subsequent generation with itself or a second sweet corn plant to produce a sweet corn plant obtained from the hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ; and (e) repeating step (c) and (d) for at least one generation to produce a sweet corn plant further obtained from the hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ. 16 . A method of producing a progeny sweet corn plant obtained from hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ, the method comprising: (a) crossing the plant of claim 2 with a second sweet corn plant to produce a progeny plant. 17 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising the steps of: (b) crossing the progeny plant obtained from the hybrid sweet corn plant designated SPRITZ with itself or a second sweet corn plant to produce a seed of progeny plant of a subsequent generation; (c) growing the progeny plant of the subsequent generation from the seed; (d) crossing the progeny plant of the subsequent generation with itself or a second sweet corn plant to produce a sweet corn plant obtained from the sweet corn hybrid sweet corn plant designated SPRITZ; and (e) repeating step (b) and (c) to produce a sweet corn plant further obtained from the hybrid sweet corn plant designated SPRITZ. 18 . A method of producing a plant of hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ comprising at least one desired trait, the method comprising introducing a single locus conversion conferring the desired trait into hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ, whereby a plant of hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ comprising the desired trait is produced, wherein a representative sample of seed of said hybrid has been deposited under NCIMB No. 44417. 19 . A sweet corn plant, a part thereof, or a cell thereof, produced by the method of claim 18 , wherein the single locus conversion is introduced into the plant by genetic transformation or a genome editing technique, and wherein the plant, the part thereof, or the cell thereof comprises one single locus conversion and otherwise all of the physioloqical and morpholoqical characteristics of hybrid sweet corn designated SPRITZ deposited under NCIMB No. 44417. 20 . The plant of claim 19 , wherein the single locus conversion confers said plant with male sterility, herbicide resistance, insect resistance, disease resistance, water-stress tolerance, heat stress tolerance, increased shelf life, increased sweetness, increased flavor, enhanced nutritional quality, improved nutritional use efficiency, increased sugar content, delayed senescence, controlled ripening, and/or improved salt tolerance. 21 . The plant of claim 19 , wherein the single locus conversion is introduced into the plant by a genome editing technique with a nuclease selected from the group consisting of Zinc finger nuclease (ZFN), Transcription Activation-Like Effector Nuclease (TALEN), CRISPR/Cas endonuclease, engineered meganuclease, engineered homing endonuclease, and RNA-guided nuclease. 22 . A method of producing a sweet corn plant, the method comprising grafting a rootstock or a scion of the hybrid sweet corn plant of claim 2 to another sweet corn plant. 23 . A method for producing nucleic acids, the method comprising isolating nucleic acids from the plant of claim 2 , or the part, or the cell thereof. 24 . A method for producing a second sweet corn plant, the method comprising applying plant breeding techniques to the plant or part of claim 2 to produce the second sweet corn plant.
