Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A graphical user interface for a gaming console is configured to render a first graphical element in a first region that includes multiple user selectable resource objects, detect a first touching operation at a first location in the first region to select and highlight a resource, detect a first touching operation and a second touching operation in the second region, render an instance of the resource at a first and second location in the second region, determine if a time period of the first and second touching operation exceeds a predetermined time period, and if so, render multiple instances of the resource at the first and second location in the second region, wherein a number of rendered the multiple instances of the resource is determined by a duration that the time period of the second touching exceeds the predetermined time period.

What is claimed is: 1 . A method of playing a game executed on an apparatus having a touch sensitive display and a processor executing gaming software configured to render a graphical user interface divided into a plurality of regions on the touch sensitive display, a first region including at least one selectable game piece, a game piece of the at least one selectable game piece being associated with a resource for performing an operation on a target in one of the plurality of regions, the method comprising: detecting, by the processor via the touch sensitive display, a selection of a game piece from the at least one selectable game piece; detecting a command to move the game piece to a second region of the plurality of regions; moving multiple instances of the game piece to the second region when the detected command is a selection of multiple points of the second region, wherein a number of the multiple instances is determined by a number of multiple points selected; moving the multiple instances of the game piece towards the target when a direction of a swiping movement in the second region after the selection is towards the target or move the multiple instances of the game piece away from the target when the direction of the swiping movement is away from the target; and releasing the multiple instances of the game piece for action on a target in the second region. 2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the swiping movement is a swiping action through multiple points of the second region, and the direction is a direction of the swiping action. 3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the method includes the processor correlating a rapidity of moving individual ones of the multiple instances of the game piece from the first region to the second region to a speed of the swiping movement. 4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein detecting the selection of the game piece from the at least one selectable game piece further comprises detecting, by the processor, a selection of more than one game piece from the at least one selectable game piece within a predetermined period of time. 5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: detecting, by the processor, a selection of at least one other game piece from the at least one selectable game piece; detecting a command to move the at least one other game piece to the second region of the plurality of regions; moving multiple instances of the at least one other game piece to the second region when the detected command is a selection of multiple points of the second region, wherein a number of the multiple instances is determined by a number of multiple points selected; moving the multiple instances of the at least one other game piece towards the target when a direction of another swiping movement in the second region after the selection is towards the target or move the multiple instance of the game piece away from the target when the direction of the swiping movement is away from the target; and releasing the multiple instances of the at least one other game piece for action on a target in the second region. 6 . The method of claim 1 , comprising: detecting, by the processor, a path of the swiping movement in the second region to determine points along the path in the second region to which the multiple instance instances of the game piece are to be moved; detecting a time duration of the swiping movement; and deploying the instances of the selected resource along the path only if the detected time duration of the swiping movement is greater than a pre-determined time duration stored in a memory of the apparatus. 7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein one portion of the path can have more instances of the game piece than another portion of the path. 8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising deploying a constant number of the multiple instances of the game piece to the second region per unit time for as long as the swiping movement is detected. 9 . The method of claim 1 further comprising: deploying a constant number of instances of the game piece per unit time along a set of points in the second region corresponding to a path of the swiping movement as long as the swiping movement is maintained. 10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: changing a current state of the target to another state corresponding to an execution of the action on the target by the multiple instances of the game piece. 11 . An electronic game apparatus, comprising: a display; a user interface embodied on the display; a plurality of regions on the user interface, a first region including at least one selectable game piece associated therewith, wherein a game piece of the at least one selectable game piece being associated with a resource for performing an operation on a target in one of the plurality of regions; and a processor comprising computer readable instructions that when executed on a computing device are configured to cause the electronic game apparatus to: detect a selection of a game piece from the at least one selectable game piece; detect a command to move the game piece to a second region of the plurality of regions; move multiple instances of the game piece to the second region when the detected command is a selection of multiple points of the second region, wherein a number of the multiple instances is determined by a number of multiple points selected; move the multiple instances of the game piece towards the target when a direction of a swiping movement in the second region after the selection is towards the target or move the multiple instances of the game piece away from the target when the direction of the swiping movement is away from the target; and release the multiple instances of the game piece for action on a target in the second region. 12 . The electronic game apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the swiping movement is through multiple points of the second region, and the direction is a direction of the swiping movement. 13 . The electronic game apparatus of claim 12 , wherein a rapidity of moving individual ones of the multiple instances of the game piece to the second region from the first region corresponds to a speed of the swiping movement. 14 . The electronic game apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the selection of the game piece from the at least one selectable game piece is a selection of more than one game piece from the at least one selectable game piece within a predetermined period of time. 15 . The electronic game apparatus of claim 11 , wherein execution of the computer readable instructions by the processor are further configured to cause the electronic game apparatus to: detect a selection of at least one other game piece from the at least one selectable game piece; detect a command to move the at least one other game piece to the second region of the plurality of regions; move multiple instances of the at least one other game piece to the second region when the detected command is a selection of multiple points of the second region, wherein a number of the multiple instances is determined by a number of multiple points selected; move the multiple instances of the at least one other game piece towards the target when a direction of another swiping movement in the second region after the selection is towards the target or move the multiple instance of the game piece away from the target when the direction of the another swiping movement is away from the target; and release the multiple instances of the at least one other game piece for action on a target in the second region. 16
