Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A parking cooler which is capable of battery powered operation during engine off operation. The parking cooler or air conditioning system may vary in cooling capacities to maximize cooling or maximize battery life. The parking cooler includes one or more condensers and a housing to accommodate such variation of cooling capacity.

The invention claimed is: 1 . A controller for an air conditioning system, comprising: a printed circuit board having a substrate including a plurality of electrical communication paths, said printed circuit board located within a housing of said air conditioning system; a motor of a variable speed compressor driven from said printed circuit board; said printed circuit board which determines if actuators and sensors are in electrical communication with said printed circuit board; a communication bus which receives input of a plurality of parameters of said actuators from a display printed circuit board; and, said plurality of parameters defining control values for said actuators, said control values being stored on said display printed circuit board; a first at least one condenser arranged at one side of an interior space of a second housing, a second side of said interior space of said second housing capable of receiving a second condenser of said at least one condenser, said second side being symmetrically positioned relative to said one side, wherein said second condenser is capable of being added to said second housing to increase cooling capacity of said air conditioning system. 2 . The controller of claim 1 , said display printed circuit board sending said control values to said printed circuit board. 3 . The controller of claim 2 wherein said printed circuit board receives a signal corresponding to one of said plurality of parameters from a display circuit board. 4 . The controller of claim 3 wherein said control values correspond to speed settings for said actuators. 5 . The controller of claim 1 , wherein the controller may be utilized with air conditioning systems of various capacity. 6 . The controller of claim 1 , said actuators including at least one condenser fan, an evaporation fan and said variable speed compressor. 7 . The controller of claim 6 , said actuators further comprising a condensate water pump. 8 . The controller of claim 7 , said sensors further comprising a water level sensor. 9 . The controller of claim 1 , said sensors comprising a cabin temperature sensor, an outside temperature sensor, and a compressor temperature sensor. 10 . The controller of claim 1 , said sensors comprising a battery voltage sensor isolated from other power. 11 . The controller of claim 1 , said plurality of parameters including a selection of at least one of automatic mode, economic mode and manual mode. 12 . The controller of claim 11 , said plurality of parameters defining fan speeds and compressor motor speed. 13 . A controller for an air conditioning system, comprising: a printed circuit board having a substrate including a plurality of electrical communication paths, said printed circuit board located within a housing of said air conditioning system; a motor of a variable speed compressor driven from said printed circuit board; said printed circuit board which determines if actuators and sensors are in electrical communication with said printed circuit board; a communication bus which receives input of a plurality of parameters of said actuators from a display printed circuit board; and, said plurality of parameters defining control values for said actuators, said control values being stored on said display printed circuit board; a first at least one condenser arranged at one side of an interior space of said housing, a second side of said interior space of said housing capable of receiving a second condenser of said at least one condenser, said second side being symmetrically positioned relative to said one side, wherein said second condenser is capable of being added to said second side of said housing to increase cooling capacity of said air conditioning system.
