Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A dynamic movement analytics system is disclosed that includes a programmable motion device including an end-effector, and a perception transfer system for receiving an object from the end-effector and for moving the object toward any of a plurality of destination containers. The perception transfer system includes at least one perception system for providing perception data regarding any of weight, shape, pose authority, position authority or identity information regarding the object as it is moved toward the any of the plurality of destination containers.

What is claimed is: 1 . A dynamic movement analytics system, comprising: a programmable motion device including an end-effector; and a perception transfer system including a perception transfer unit ( 42 ) coupled to an articulated mount, wherein the perception transfer unit ( 42 ) is provided for receiving an object from the end-effector and the articulated mount travels along a circular track ( 46 ) that at least partially encircles the programmable motion device for moving the object contained in the perception transfer unit toward any one of a plurality of destination containers, the perception transfer unit including at least one perception system for providing perception data regarding one or more of weight, shape, pose authority, position authority, and identity information regarding the object as the object is moved toward the the destination container, and wherein the perception transfer unit ( 40 ) travels to the destination container at the same time the programmable motion device ( 34 ) returns the end effector ( 36 ) to a position at which the end effector is ready to select another object. 2 . The dynamic movement analytics system as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the at least one perception system of the perception transfer system includes at least one optical perception unit and at least one weight detection sensor that together provide the perception data, the perception data including information regarding one or more of weight data, 3D information from 3D scanners, barcode information, RFID information from RFID scanners, label information, color, color combinations, and non-standard shapes. 3 . The dynamic movement analytics system as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the programmable motion device and the perception transfer system are mounted on a common base. 4 . The dynamic movement analytics system as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the perception transfer system provides movement toward any one of the plurality of destination containers in a radial direction with respect to the common base. 5 . The dynamic movement analytics system as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the articulated mount of the perception transfer system further includes an extension arm member that is extendable to provide further movement of the perception transfer unit toward any one of the plurality of destination containers in a linear direction with respect to the common base. 6 . The dynamic movement analytics system as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the perception transfer system further includes an actuation system for transferring the object from the perception transfer system to any one of the plurality of destination containers. 7 . The dynamic movement analytics system as claimed in claim 6 , wherein the actuation system includes at least one actuatable panel on a floor of the perception transfer system. 8 . The dynamic movement analytics system as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the at least one actuatable panel on the floor of the perception transfer system includes a weight detection sensor. 9 . A dynamic movement analytics system, comprising: a programmable motion device including an end-effector; and a perception transfer system including at least two perception transfer units coupled to respective articulated mounts, wherein each perception transfer unit ( 42 ) is provided for receiving an object from the end-effector and the respective articulated mounts travel along a circular track ( 46 ) that at least partially encircles the programmable motion device for moving the object contained in each perception transfer unit toward any of a plurality of destination containers, each perception transfer unit including a perception system for providing perception data regarding the object as the object is moved toward the destination container, said perception system including at least one optical perception unit and at least one weight detection sensor, wherein at least one of the perception transfer units ( 40 ) travels to any one of the plurality of destination containers at the same time the programmable motion device ( 34 ) returns the end effector ( 36 ) to a position at which the end effector is ready to select another object. 10 . The dynamic movement analytics system as claimed in claim 9 , wherein the at least one optical perception unit and the at least one weight detection sensor together provide the perception data, the perception data including regarding one or more of weight data, 3D information from 3D scanners, barcode information, RFID information from RFID scanners, label information, color, color combinations, and non-standard shapes. 11 . The dynamic movement analytics system as claimed in claim 9 , wherein the programmable motion device and the perception transfer system are mounted on a common base. 12 . The dynamic movement analytics system as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the perception transfer system provides movement toward any one of the plurality of destination containers in a radial direction with respect to the common base. 13 . The dynamic movement analytics system as claimed in claim 11 , wherein each of the respective articulated mounts of the perception transfer system includes an extension arm member that is extendable to provide further movement of the at least two perception transfer units toward any one of the plurality of destination containers in a linear direction with respect to the common base. 14 . The dynamic movement analytics system as claimed in claim 9 , wherein the perception transfer system further includes an actuation system for transferring the object from the perception transfer system to any of the plurality of destination containers. 15 . The dynamic movement analytics system as claimed in claim 14 , wherein the actuation system includes at least one actuatable panel on a floor of the perception transfer system. 16 . The dynamic movement analytics system as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the at least one actuatable panel on the floor of the perception transfer system includes a weight detection sensor. 17 . A dynamic movement analytics system, comprising: a programmable motion device including an end-effector; and a perception transfer system including a perception transfer unit ( 42 ) coupled to an articulated mount, wherein the perception transfer unit ( 42 ) is provided for receiving an object from the end-effector and the articulated mount travels along a circular track ( 46 ) that at least partially encircles the programmable motion device for moving the object contained in the perception transfer unit toward any one of a plurality of destination containers, the perception transfer unit including a perception system for providing perception data regarding the object as the object is moved toward the the destination container, and wherein the perception transfer unit comprises a frame ( 101 ) and at least one actuatable drop floor panel ( 102 , 104 ) for transferring the object received from the end-effector of the programmable motion device to the destination container, and wherein the perception transfer system ( 40 ) travels to the destination container at the same time the programmable motion device ( 34 ) returns the end effector ( 36 ) to a position at which the end effector is ready to select another object. 18 .
