What is claimed is: 1 . A solid unit-dose oral care composition comprising: (a) a fibrous composition comprising a polyvinyl alcohol polymer and a fluoride ion source comprising stannous fluoride, wherein the fibrous composition has a mean void volume of about 15% to about 75%; and (b) an abrasive disposed in a nonfibrous composition or a second fibrous composition that is free of fluoride, wherein the solid unit dose oral care composition has a dissolution time of about 50 seconds to about 250 seconds. 2 . The unit-dose oral care composition of claim 1 , wherein the fluoride ion source comprises sodium fluoride, sodium monofluorophosphate, amine fluoride, or combinations thereof. 3 . The unit-dose oral care composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises from about 0.01% to about 10%, by weight of the unit-dose oral care composition, of metal selected from tin, zinc and combinations thereof. 4 . A solid unit-dose oral care composition comprising: (a) a first fibrous composition layer comprising fluoride; (b) a second fibrous composition layer comprising fluoride, wherein at least one of the first or second fiber compositions comprise a polymer; and (c) a non-fibrous composition disposed between the first and second fibrous composition layers, wherein the non-fibrous composition comprises a calcium abrasive, and wherein the first and second fibrous composition layers are bonded together along an edge to encase the non-fibrous composition. 5 . The unit-dose oral care composition of claim 1 , wherein the unit-dose oral care composition has from about 2% to about 10%, by weight of the unit-dose oral care composition, of the fluoride ion source. 6 . The unit-dose oral care composition of claim 1 , wherein the unit-dose oral care composition has at least about a 1500 ppm fluoride uptake. 7 . The unit-dose oral care composition of claim 1 , wherein the unit-dose oral care composition comprises from about 0.01% to about 40%, by weight of the unit-dose oral care composition, of calcium selected from calcium abrasive, calcium salt, and combinations thereof. 8 . The unit-dose oral care composition of claim 7 , wherein the unit-dose oral care composition has at least about a 1000 ppm average fluoride uptake. 9 . The unit-dose oral care composition of claim 7 , wherein the unit-dose oral care composition has at least about a 2000 ppm average fluoride uptake. 10 . The unit-dose oral care composition of claim 1 , wherein the unit-dose oral care composition comprises from about 0.01% to less than 10%, by weight of the unit-dose oral care composition, of the polyvinyl alcohol. 11 . The solid unit-dose oral care composition of claim 1 , wherein the abrasive comprises calcium and wherein the solid unit-dose oral care composition has an average fluoride uptake of at least about 1000 ppm. 12 . The unit-dose oral care composition of claim 11 , further comprising calcium salt. 13 . The unit-dose oral care composition of claim 11 , wherein the unit-dose oral care composition comprises from about 10% to about 50%, by weight of the unit-dose oral care composition, of the polyvinyl alcohol. 14 . The unit-dose oral care composition of claim 11 , wherein the unit-dose oral care composition comprises from about 0.01% to about 10%, by weight of the unit-dose oral care composition, of the fluoride ion source. 15 . The unit-dose oral care composition of claim 11 , wherein the unit-dose oral care composition comprises from about 0.01% to about 40%, by weight of the unit-dose oral care composition, of the calcium. 16 . The unit-dose oral care composition of claim 11 , wherein the fluoride comprises sodium fluoride, sodium monofluorophosphate, amine fluoride, or combinations thereof. 17 . The unit-dose oral care composition of claim 4 , wherein the polymer comprises starch, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, polyethylene oxide, carboxymethylcellulose, polyacrylic acid, polyvinyl ether maleic acid copolymer, or combinations thereof. 18 . The solid unit dose oral care composition of claim 4 , wherein the first and second fibrous composition layers are pressure bonded.
