Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for Uplink operation in LTE unlicensed spectrum (LTE-U). A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive licensed assisted access (LAA) configuration information, e.g., for a first cell from a second cell. The first cell may be associated with operation in an unlicensed band, and the second cell may be associated with operation in a licensed band. The WTRU may determine whether a first subframe is a sounding reference signal (SRS) subframe for the first cell. If the first subframe is an SRS subframe for the first cell, the WTRU may determine SRS resources for the first subframe and determine whether the WTRU is triggered to transmit an SRS transmission in the first subframe. If it is determined the WTRU is triggered to transmit the SRS transmission in the first subframe, the WTRU may transmit the SRS transmission on the SRS resources for the first subframe.

First claim

What is claimed: 1 . A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising: a processor configured to: receive an uplink (UL) grant for a first cell; based on the reception of the UL grant, perform a listen before talk (LBT) procedure associated with the first cell; based on the LBT procedure indicating an LBT failure, determine that a number of LBT failures associated with the first cell has reached a threshold value; and based on the determination that the number of LBT failures associated with the first cell has reached the threshold value, transmit a report to a base station, wherein the report is associated with an UL transmission status for the first cell, and wherein the report indicates that the threshold value has been reached. 2 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to: receive a configuration for reporting an UL transmission status for the first cell, wherein the configuration indicates the threshold value, and wherein the threshold value is associated with the number of LBT failures. 3 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to: skip an UL transmission via the first cell, and wherein the UL transmission status for the first cell is configured to indicate that the UL transmission has been skipped. 4 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to: based on the LBT procedure indicating that the LBT failure is not detected, perform an UL transmission via the first cell. 5 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the threshold value is a configured value, and wherein the threshold value is a maximum number of LBT failures. 6 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the report comprises a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE). 7 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the report is sent to the base station in at least one of a radio resource control (RRC) message or a MAC message. 8 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein to determine that the number of LBT failures associated with the first cell has reached the threshold value based on the detected LBT failure comprises the processor being configured to: count the number of LBT failures associated with the first cell; and determine that the number of LBT failures associated with the first cell is greater than or equal to the threshold value. 9 . A method implemented by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising: receiving an uplink (UL) grant for a first cell; based on the reception of the UL grant, performing a listen before talk (LBT) procedure associated with the first cell; based on the LBT procedure indicating an LBT failure, determining that a number of LBT failures associated with the first cell has reached a threshold value; and based on the determination that the number of LBT failures associated with the first cell has reached the threshold value, transmitting a report to a base station, wherein the report is associated with an UL transmission status for the first cell, and wherein the report indicates that the threshold value has been reached. 10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the method further comprises: receiving a configuration for reporting an UL transmission status for the first cell, wherein the configuration indicates the threshold value, and wherein the threshold value is associated with the number of LBT failures. 11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the method comprises: skipping an UL transmission via the first cell, and wherein the UL transmission status for the first cell is configured to indicate that the UL transmission has been skipped. 12 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the method comprises: based on the LBT procedure indicating that the LBT failure is not detected, performing an UL transmission via the first cell. 13 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the threshold value is a configured value, and wherein the threshold value is a maximum number of LBT failures. 14 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the report comprises a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE). 15 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the report is sent to the base station in at least one of a radio resource control (RRC) message or a MAC message. 16 . The method of claim 9 , wherein determining that the number of LBT failures associated with the first cell has reached the threshold value comprises: counting the number of LBT failures associated with the first cell; and determining that the number of LBT failures associated with the first cell is greater than or equal to the threshold value.
