The invention claimed is: 1 . A method of providing a plurality of articles, the method comprising providing a sheet comprising polymeric materials, rotary thermoforming the sheet onto a mold to provide an article-blank web, cutting the article-blank web to form a carrier web and a plurality of article blanks coupled with the carrier web after molding the sheet, and separating the plurality of article blanks from the carrier web to provide the plurality of articles, wherein the plurality of articles have a thickness of 0.012 inches or less and have a gram weight standard deviation of 0.110 grams or less, wherein the method further comprises conditioning the sheet, prior to the step of rotary thermoforming the sheet onto the mold to provide the article-blank web, with an outer surface of a rotating roller and the outer surface of the rotating roller has a surface roughness of equal to or greater than 100 Ra (microinches) to block axial and circumferential movement of the sheet relative to a longitudinal axis of the rotating roller along a portion of the sheet contacted by the outer surface, and wherein the outer surface of the rotating roller includes a first portion that contacts the sheet and has a first surface roughness and a plurality of second portions that contact the sheet and have a second surface roughness that is greater than the first surface roughness to block axial movement of the sheet relative to the longitudinal axis along a portion of the sheet contacted by the first portion of the outer surface, and wherein the plurality of article blanks provided by the cutting step each have the portion of the sheet contacted by the first portion of the outer surface such that the first surface roughness of the first portion of the outer surface contacts the sheet at a location that forms at least one portion of each of the plurality of articles, the at least one portion of each of the plurality of articles having a clarity of equal to or greater than 40% as measured using ASTM D 1746, wherein the outer surface includes a plurality of first portions that includes the first portion, and wherein the plurality of first portions and the plurality of second portions alternate axially along the roller relative to the axis, wherein each of the plurality of first portions have an axial width that is greater than an axial width of the plurality of article blanks, and wherein an area of the sheet that forms each article blank of the plurality of article blanks is spaced axially from each of the plurality of second portions during the conditioning step.
