Example embodiments of systems and methods for data transmission in a contactless card and client application are provided. The contactless card comprises a visual display, processor, and a memory which includes a first applet, unique identifier, and value. A client application comprises instructions for execution on a client device, and is in data communication with the contactless card via one or more communication fields. The contactless card may display the value, the unique identifier, and a first status on the visual display. The first applet may transmit data to the client application in response to one or more gestures by the contactless card within at least one of the fields. The client application may authenticate the received data. The contactless card may update the display via the one or more fields based on the authenticated data, and change the first status to a second status based on the updated display.

What is claimed is: 1 . A transaction system, comprising: a contactless card including a processor, a visual display, and a memory, wherein the contactless card is configured to: display, on the visual display, a unique merchant identifier and a value to perform one or more transactions with a merchant, wherein the unique merchant identifier is assigned by a payment processor associated with at least one of the one or more transactions, transmit, via near field communication (NFC), a request message comprising data for authentication of the contactless card and a transaction value associated with a merchant, to a client application, the request message being operative to initiate the client application to display a prompt for selection of a payment amount by a user; and update, in response to a verification message received from the client application, the visual display by changing a first status of the visual display to a second status, wherein the verification message is based on authentication of the contactless card and processing of the payment amount selected by the user. 2 . The transaction system of claim 1 , wherein the contactless card is configured to change the second status of the visual display to the first status of the display after expiration of a predetermined period of time. 3 . The transaction system of claim 1 , wherein the memory of the contactless card stores an NFC tag, and NFC connectivity is established after one or more entries of the contactless card into a communication field generated by a client device. 4 . The transaction system of claim 1 , wherein the selection of the payment amount comprises at least one selected from the group of a partial amount associated with the value and a full amount associated with at least one of the one or more transactions. 5 . The transaction system of claim 1 , wherein the first status comprises an unpaid status and the second status comprises a paid status. 6 . The transaction system of claim 1 , wherein the first status and the second status are each associated with the payment amount. 7 . The transaction system of claim 1 , wherein the visual display comprises an e-ink display. 8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the contactless card is further configured to display, on the visual display, the unique merchant identifier associated with the merchant and the transaction value to perform one or more transactions with the merchant, wherein the unique merchant identifier is assigned by a payment processor associated with at least one of the one or more transactions. 9 . A method of data transmission, the method comprising the steps of: transmitting, by a contactless card, a request message comprising data for authentication of the contactless card and a transaction value associated with a merchant, to a client application executing on a client device, wherein the request message is transmitted via a near field communications (NFC) connectivity established between the contactless card and the client device is operative to initiate the client application to display a prompt for selection of a payment amount by user; and updating, in response to a verification message received from the client application, a visual display by changing a first status of the visual display to a second status, wherein the verification message is based on authentication of the contactless card and processing of the payment amount selected by the use. 10 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising changing the second status of the visual display to the first status of the display after expiration of a predetermined period of time. 11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the first status and the second status are each associated with the payment amount. 12 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the NFC connectivity is established after one or more entries of the contactless card into a communication field generated by the client device. 13 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the selection of the payment amount comprises at least one selected from the group of a partial amount associated with the transaction value and a full amount associated with the transaction value. 14 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the first status comprises an unpaid status and the second status comprises a paid status. 15 . The method of claim 9 further comprising displaying, on the visual display, a unique merchant identifier associated with the merchant and the transaction value to perform one or more transactions with the merchant, wherein the unique merchant identifier is assigned by a payment processor associated with at least one of the one or more transactions. 16 . An offline transaction system, comprising: a client application comprising instructions for execution on a client device, the client application being in communication with a first applet executing on a contactless card associated with a user of the client device, wherein the client application is configured to: generate, responsive to detection of one or more reads of a near field communication (NFC) tag associated with the contactless card, one or more prompts requesting selection of an amount associated with a value received from the contactless card and display a unique merchant identifier, wherein the unique merchant identifier is assigned by a payment processor associated with at least one of the one or more transactions, receive, responsive to the one or more prompts, the selection of the amount associated with the value, transmit the selection of the amount for verification to perform one or more transactions involving stored funds and the unique merchant identifier, receive one or more responses indicative of verification of the selection of the amount to perform one or more transactions, and transmit, based on the one or more responses, one or more instructions to change a first status of a visual display associated with the contactless card to a second status of the visual display based on the selection of the amount. 17 . The offline transaction system of claim 16 , wherein the client application is configured to clear payment associated with retrieved funds to perform the one or more transactions. 18 . The offline transaction system of claim 17 , wherein the retrieved funds are stored in a secure element. 19 . The offline transaction system of claim 16 , further comprising transmitting, after a transition from an offline mode to an online mode of data connectivity, one or more additional instructions to change the second status of the visual display to the first status of the visual display. 20 . The offline transaction system of claim 16 , wherein the amount comprises at least one selected from the group of a partial amount associated with the value and a full amount associated with the value.
