Devices for generating and releasing vapor. In particular, described herein are portable devices for generating a low-temperature inhalable vapor having an elongated tubular body containing a vaporization chamber and a battery-powered heater, a removable mouthpiece covering the vaporization chamber, a display configured to indicate the temperature of the vaporization chamber; a microcontroller configured to regulate the temperature of the vaporization chamber, and a control to select from among a variety of temperature settings.

What is claimed is: 1 . A portable vaporization device for generating an inhalable vapor, the device comprising: a mouthpiece with an inhalation passage for delivering an inhalable vapor to a user; a case with a low temperature vaporization chamber and a hinged door; a heater, the chamber being configured to receive a smokeable material cartridge, access to the chamber being controlled by the hinged door, and the heater being operable to heat a smokeable material in the vaporization chamber to generate a vapor in the chamber; and a control configured to allow the user to select a target temperature from a variety of temperature settings; wherein at least one of the mouthpiece and the case is provided with an air inlet, the air inlet configured such that when a user draws on the device, fresh air enters through the air inlet, mixes with the vapor in the vaporization chamber, and the inhalable vapor formed by the mixture is delivered to the user via the inhalation passage. 2 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the heater is inside the case. 3 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the inhalation passage is extended by a hollow tube into the vaporization chamber. 4 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein an operating temperature of the device is at or below about 204.4 degrees C. (400 degrees F.). 5 . The device according to claim 4 , further comprising a thermal regulator operable to achieve an operating temperature of the device that varies by less than +/approximately 3 degrees C. (5 degrees F.). 6 . The device according to claim 1 , further comprising one or more light-emitting diodes configured to provide feedback on a state of the device, wherein the state of the device comprises: a. the device is on; b. a current temperature of the vaporization chamber; c. indication that the vaporization chamber is below a prescribed operating temperature; d. indication that the vaporization chamber has reached a prescribed operating temperature and the inhalable vapor is ready for consumption; and e. indication that the vaporization chamber has exceeded a prescribed operating temperature. 7 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the smokeable material comprises any combination of natural and synthetic material that is vaporizable for pleasure or medicinal use. 8 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the smokeable material comprises a botanical. 9 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the control effects the desired temperature setting mechanically. 10 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the control effects the desired temperature setting electronically. 11 . The device according to claim 9 , wherein the control effects the desired temperature setting by changing the flow rate of the valve. 12 . The device according to claim 10 , wherein the control effects the desired temperature setting by changing the flow rate of an electromechanical valve and micro-controller intermediary. 13 . A portable vaporization device for generating an inhalable vapor, the device comprising: a case with a low temperature vaporization chamber and a door; a heater, the chamber being configured to receive a smokeable material cartridge, access to the chamber being controlled by the door, and the heater being operable to heat a smokeable material in the vaporization chamber to generate a vapor in the chamber; and a control configured to allow the user to select a target temperature from a variety of temperature settings; wherein the case is provided with an air inlet, the air inlet configured such that when a user draws on the device, fresh air enters through the air inlet, mixes with the vapor in the vaporization chamber, and an inhalable vapor formed by the mixture is delivered to the user. 14 . A device for generating an inhalable vapor, comprising: an electric heater including a vaporization chamber configured to contains a smokeable material, the heater configured to generate the inhalable vapor by heating the vaporization chamber and the smokeable material contained therein, a door configured to control access to the vaporization chamber, a control means which enables a user to select an operating temperature of the vaporization chamber from a plurality of temperature settings, and one or more light-emitting diode(s) configured to provide feedback relating to states of the device, wherein the states of the device provided by the one or more light-emitting diode(s) include indications such that: a) the device is on, b) the vaporization chamber is below a prescribed operating temperature, and c) the vaporization chamber has reached a prescribed operating temperature. 15 . The device according to claim 14 , further comprising a mouthpiece and a main body. 16 . The device according to claim 15 , wherein the electric heater is inside the main body. 17 . The device according to claim 15 , comprising an insulating material to minimize thermal transfer from the electric heater to the main body. 18 . The device according to claim 15 , wherein the mouthpiece comprises an inhalation passage for releasing to a user the inhalable vapor generated in the vaporization chamber, and the inhalation passage is extended to the vaporization chamber by a hollow tube. 19 . The device according to claim 15 , wherein the electric heater comprises a thermally conductive shell. 20 . The device according to claim 19 , wherein the thermally conductive shell comprises one material or a combination of materials, wherein the combination of materials is formed together by pressing or welding. 21 . The device according to claim 14 , comprising a thermocouple for measuring an operating temperature of the device, and a micro-controller for controlling the operating temperature of the device. 22 . The device according to claim 14 , wherein the operating temperature of the device is at or below about 204.4 degrees C. (400 degrees F.). 23 . The device according to claim 22 , wherein a range of variation of the operating temperature is less than +/approximately 3 degrees C. (5 degrees F.). 24 . The device according to claim 14 , wherein the smokeable material includes any combination of natural and synthetic material that is vaporizable for pleasure or medicinal use. 25 . The device according to claim 14 , wherein the smokeable substance comprises a botanical. 26 . The device according to claim 14 , wherein the smokeable material comprises tobacco. 27 . A portable vaporization device for generating an inhalable vapor, the device comprising: a case with a vaporization chamber, the vaporization chamber configured to receive a vaporizable material; and a heater being operable to heat the vaporizable material received in the vaporization chamber to generate a vapor in the vaporization chamber in a space immediately above the vaporizable material, wherein the case is provided with an air inlet, the air inlet being disposed laterally through the case toward the space immediately above the vaporizable material when the vaporizable material is received within the vaporization chamber, the air inlet being further configured such that, in use of the device, when a user draws on the device, fresh air enters through the air inlet, mixes with the vapor in the space immediately above the vaporizable material within the vaporization cha
