Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for wireless communication of analyte data. One such method includes, during a first interval, establishing a first connection between an analyte sensor system and a display device. During the first connection, the method includes exchanging information related to authentication between the analyte sensor system and the display device. The method includes making a determination regarding whether authentication was performed during the first interval. During a second interval, the method may include establishing a second connection between the analyte sensor system and the display device for transmission of an encrypted analyte value, and bypassing the exchanging of information related to authentication performed during the first connection. The method also includes, during the second interval, the analyte sensor system transmitting the encrypted analyte value to the display device, if the determination indicates that the authentication was performed during the first interval.

What is claimed is: 1 . A method for wireless communication performed by an analyte sensor system, the method comprising: acquiring, via an analyte sensor of the analyte sensor system, analyte measurements; transmitting, to a display device, prior to establishing a communication channel between the display device and the analyte sensor system, a first one or more advertisement messages in accordance with a first pattern of advertising associated with at least one of a first advertisement message interval, a first advertisement window interval, or a first advertisement duration length; establishing a connection with the display device based on the first one or more advertisement messages; adaptively switching to transmitting a second one or more advertisement messages in accordance with a second pattern based on an indication of a quality of the established connection, by the analyte sensor system and to the display device, wherein the second pattern of advertising is associated with least one of a second advertisement message interval, a second advertisement window interval, or a second advertisement duration length; receiving, from the display device, a connection request; in response to the connection request sent by the display device and the second one or more advertisement messages transmitted by the analyte sensor system, establishing the communication channel between the second display device and the analyte sensor system, wherein at least one of: the second advertisement message interval is different than the first advertisement message interval, the second advertisement window interval is different than the first advertisement window interval, or the second advertisement duration length is different than the first advertisement duration length; transmitting, via the communication channel, the analyte measurements to the second display device; and displaying, via the display device, at least one of analyte data corresponding to the analyte measurements or an alarm corresponding to the analyte measurements. 2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first advertisement message interval is a time interval between successive or sequential advertisements of the first one or more advertisement messages transmitted associated with the first advertisement window interval. 3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein adaptively switching to the second pattern of advertising is further based on a type and/or a number of display devices in proximity to the analyte sensor system. 4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein adaptively switching to the second pattern of advertising is further based on how recently the display device has connected to the analyte sensor system. 5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein: at least one of: the second advertisement message interval is longer than the first advertisement message interval, the second advertisement window interval is longer than the first advertisement window interval, or the second advertisement duration length is longer than the first advertisement duration length, and adaptively switching to the second pattern of advertising is based on a battery life of the analyte sensor system. 6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein: at least one of: the second advertisement message interval is shorter than the first advertisement message interval, the second advertisement window interval is shorter than the first advertisement window interval, or the second advertisement duration length is shorter than the first advertisement duration length, and adaptively switching to the second pattern of advertising is based on a determination to speed up connection time with the display device. 7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein adaptively switching to the second pattern of advertising is further based on whether or not the analyte sensor system has previously been paired with the display device. 8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein adaptively switching to the second pattern of advertising is further based on a location of the analyte sensor system, a location of the display device, or the location of the of analyte sensor system relative to the location of the display device. 9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the display device is an insulin delivery device. 10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second one or more advertising messages are different than the communication channel. 11 . An analyte sensor system comprising: an analyte sensor operable to generate analyte measurements; a transmitter; a memory comprising executable instructions; a processor in data communication with the memory and configured to execute the instructions to cause the analyte sensor system to: transmit, to a display device, through the transmitter, prior to establishing a communication channel between the display device and the analyte sensor system, a first one or more advertisement messages in accordance with a first pattern of advertising associated with at least one of a first advertisement message interval, a first advertisement window interval, or a first advertisement duration length; establish a connection with the first display device based on the first one or more advertisement messages; adaptively switch to transmitting a second one or more advertisement messages in accordance with a second pattern based on an indication of a quality of the established connection, by the analyte sensor system and to the display device, wherein the second pattern of advertising is associated with least one of a second advertisement message interval, a second advertisement window interval, or a second advertisement duration length; receive, from the display device, a connection request; in response to the connection request sent by the display device and the second one or more advertisement messages transmitted by the analyte sensor system, establish the communication channel between the display device and the analyte sensor system, wherein at least one of: the second advertisement message interval is different than the first advertisement message interval, the second advertisement window interval is different than the first advertisement window interval, or the second advertisement duration length is different than the first advertisement duration length; and transmit, via the communication channel, the analyte measurements to the display device, wherein at least one of analyte data corresponding to the analyte measurements or an alarm corresponding to the analyte measurements is displayed by the display device. 12 . The analyte sensor system of claim 11 , wherein the first advertisement message interval is a time interval between successive or sequential advertisements of the first one or more advertisement messages transmitted associated with the first advertisement window interval. 13 . The analyte sensor system of claim 11 , wherein adaptively switching to the second pattern of advertising is further based on a type and/or a number of display devices in proximity to the analyte sensor system. 14 . The analyte sensor system of claim 11 , wherein adaptively switching to the second pattern of advertising is further based on how recently the display device has connected to the analyte sensor system. 15 . The analyte sensor system of claim 11 , wherein: at least one of: the second advertisement message interval is longer than the first advertisement message interval, the second advertisement window interval is longer than the first advertisement window interval, or the second advertisement duration length is longer than the first advertisement duration length,
