Disclosed are compounds having a monoterpenoid and/or phenylpropanoid moiety and methods of their making and use as pesticidal compounds, such as seed treatments.

What is claimed is: 1 . A method for killing or repelling an insect that feeds on seeds or germinated seeds, comprising the step of: exposing the insect to a seed treated with a composition consisting essentially of a carrier and an insecticidal compound having a structure from the groups consisting of 2 . The method for killing or repelling an insect according to claim 1 , wherein the insecticidal compound is selected from the group consisting of: ethylene dicitronellate, hexacitronelloylinositol, dicitronelloylhydroquinone, tricitronelloylglycerol, and dicitronelloylglycerol.
