There are disclosed compounds of the following formula I or a stereoisomer or pharmaceutically-acceptable salt thereof, wherein all substituents are as defined herein, which are useful in the modulation of IL-12, IL-23 and/or IFN?, by acting on Tyk-2 to cause signal transduction inhibition. The compounds of the invention may be useful for treating inflammatory and autoimmune diseases or disorders.

We claim: 1 . A compound which is or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 2 . A compound which is or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 3 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising one or more compounds according to claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent. 4 . A method of treating a disease, comprising administering to a patient in need of such treatment a therapeutically-effective amount of a compound according to claim 1 , wherein the disease is an inflammatory or autoimmune disease selected from multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, Crohn's Disease, Sjögren's syndrome and scleroderma. 5 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising one or more compounds according to claim 2 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent. 6 . A method of treating a disease, comprising administering to a patient in need of such treatment a therapeutically-effective amount of a compound according to claim 2 , wherein the disease is an inflammatory or autoimmune disease selected from multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, Crohn's Disease, Sjögren's syndrome and scleroderma.
