A compound that is capable of achieving an organic EL device that has a high external quantum efficiency and a long lifetime is to be provided, and a compound represented by the following formula (1) is used (wherein in the formula, R 11 to R 17 , R 21 to R 28 , R 31 to R 38 , R 41 to R 45 , R 51 to R 55 , R 61 to R 64 , and L 1 are defined in the description).

The invention claimed is: 1 . A compound of formula (1): wherein in the formula (1), R 11 to R 17 and R 61 to R 64 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, one of R 42 and R 45 represents a single bond bonding ring *b to ring *a, and the other of R 42 and R 45 not being a single bond bonded to *a, R 41 , R 43 and R 44 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, an unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, R 55 represents a position bonding ring *d to ring *c through L 1 , R 51 , R 52 , R 53 , and R 54 , each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, one of R 21 to R 22 represents a single bond bonded to *d, and the others of R 21 to Res than the single bond bonded to *d each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6 to 50 ring carbon atoms, one of R 31 to R 38 represents a single bond bonded to *b, and the others of R 31 to R 38 than the single bond bonded to *b each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6 to 50 ring carbon atoms, and L 1 represents a single bond, or an unsubstituted para-phenylene group, provided that in R 11 to R 17 , R 21 to R 28 , R 31 to R 38 , R 41 to R 45 , R 51 to R 55 , and R 61 to R 64 , substituents adjacent to each other are not bonded to each other and do not form a ring. 2 . The compound according to claim 1 , wherein L 1 represents an unsubstituted para-phenylene group. 3 . The compound according to claim 1 , wherein L 1 represents a single bond. 4 . The compound according to claim 1 , wherein Ru to R 1 , R 41 to R 45 other than the single bond bonded to *a, R 51 to R 54 other than the single bond bonded to *c, and R 61 to R 64 each independently represents a hydrogen atom or an unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms; and R 21 to R 28 other than the single bond bonded to *d and R 31 to R 38 other than the single bond bonded to *b each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms. 5 . The compound according to claim 1 , wherein Ry to R 17 represent hydrogen atoms. 6 . The compound according to claim 1 , wherein R 41 to R 45 other than the single bond bonded to *a, R 51 to R 54 , and R 61 to R 64 represent hydrogen atoms. 7 . The compound according to claim 1 , wherein R 21 to R 28 other than the single bond bonded to *d and R 31 to R 38 other than the single bond bonded to *b are hydrogen atoms. 8 . A material for an organic EL device, comprising the compound according to claim 1 . 9 . An organic electroluminescence device comprising an anode, a cathode, and an organic layer between the anode and the cathode, the organic layer including a light emitting layer, at least one layer of the organic layer including the compound according to claim 1 . 10 . The organic electroluminescence device according to claim 9 , comprising an organic layer between the anode and the light emitting layer, wherein the organic layer between the anode and the light emitting layer includes the compound. 11 . The organic electroluminescence device according to claim 9 , wherein the organic layer includes the light emitting layer and a hole transporting layer, the hole transporting layer is between the anode and the light emitting layer, and the hole transporting layer includes the compound. 12 . The organic electroluminescence device according to claim 11 , wherein the hole transporting layer includes a first hole transporting layer and a second hole transporting layer, and the second hole transporting layer includes the compound. 13 . An electronic light emitting device comprising the organic electroluminescence device according to claim 9 .
