The invention claimed is: 1 . An intelligent door lock system for a door at a dwelling, the intelligent door lock system comprising: a remotely operable lock configured to be coupled to the door; a door status device configured to facilitate monitoring a status of the remotely operable lock including a locked state and an unlocked state; a camera configured to be coupled to or proximate the door; and one or more processing circuits configured to: acquire a signal from the door status device indicating a change in the status of the remotely operable lock; activate the camera to monitor an area proximate the door in response to the signal; and deactivate the camera prior to the remotely operable lock being locked in response to determining that the door transitions from open to closed, wherein the camera continues to be activated until the door is closed. 2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the remotely operable lock communicates directly to the camera. 3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the remotely operable lock communicates with the camera via Bluetooth. 4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the camera is placed inside the dwelling and positioned to face the door. 5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the camera is configured to define a safe zone in the dwelling delimited by one or more virtual fences. 6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the camera is configured to define a safe zone in the dwelling delimited by one or more virtual fences that in the event the one or more virtual fences are broken, different alerts can be activated. 7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the camera is configured to define a safe zone in the dwelling delimited by one or more virtual fences that when breached can provide none or more notifications to: an occupant's mobile device, vocal warning and a communication with authorities. 8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the remotely operable lock communicates information to the camera that includes multiple status data. 9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the multiple status data includes at least one of, if the door is open or closed and if the remotely operable lock is locked or unlocked. 10 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the camera uses input from sensors at the dwelling or included in the intelligent door lock system to decide to begin recording or not. 11 . A system for monitoring a dwelling, the system comprising: a remotely operable lock configured to be coupled to a door; a camera configured to be coupled to or proximate the door; and one or more processing circuits configured to: unlock the remotely operable lock in response to communications with a mobile device, wherein unlocking the remotely operable lock causes the remotely operable lock to output a signal indicating an unlocked status of the remotely operable lock; acquire vision data using the camera to monitor motion in a field of view of the camera in response to the signal; and deactivate the camera prior to the remotely operable lock being locked in response to determining that the door transitions from open to closed. 12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein monitoring motion includes determining whether a moving object crosses a boundary. 13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the one or more processing circuits are configured to transmit an alert in response to determining that the moving object has crossed the boundary. 14 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the communications with the mobile device include determining that the mobile device has crossed a boundary. 15 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more processing circuits are configured to unlock the remotely operable lock in response to determining that the mobile device has crossed the boundary. 16 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the remotely operable lock includes a door status device configured to facilitate monitoring a status of the remotely operable lock including a locked status and the unlocked status. 17 . A system for monitoring a dwelling, the system comprising: an electronic lock configured to be coupled to a door, wherein the door is positioned to selectively permit access to the dwelling, and wherein the electronic lock is configured to lock and unlock the door; a sensor configured to be positioned to facilitate monitoring a door status of the door; a camera configured to be coupled to or proximate the door; and one or more processing circuits configured to: activate the camera to acquire vision data of an area proximate the door; and deactivate the camera in response to the door status changing from an ajar status to a closed status. 18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the sensor includes a magnetometer. 19 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the one or more processing circuits are configured to activate the camera to acquire the vision data in response to a lock status of the electronic lock changing from a locked status to an unlocked status. 20 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the one or more processing circuits are configured to: acquire a signal from the electrically operable lock indicating a change in a lock status of the electrically operable lock; and deactivate the camera in response to the lock status changing from an unlocked status to a locked status without the door being opened.
