What is claimed is: 1 . A dishwashing appliance comprising: a first filter with a first filtering permeability in a flat lid configuration, configured to receive the dishwashing fluid; a second filter with a second filtering permeability coupled to the first filter, wherein the second filter is substantially cylindrical in shape having an outer cylindrical periphery and an inner cylindrical periphery extending between a top end and a bottom end; a sump housing through which the second filter is disposed therein, the second filter separates the sump housing into a grinding volume portion inside the inner cylindrical periphery of the second filter and a recirculation volume portion outside the outer cylindrical periphery of the second filter; a stationary grinding ring having a cylindrical wall coupled to the bottom end of the second filter, wherein the cylindrical wall defines an outer cylindrical periphery and an inner cylindrical periphery, a plurality of notches extending from the outer cylindrical periphery through the cylindrical wall to the inner cylindrical periphery, and a plurality of breaker members extending inwardly from the inner cylindrical periphery; and a rotatable grinding plate rotating within the inner cylindrical periphery of the stationary grinding ring, wherein the rotatable grinding plate is coupled to a shaft driven by a grinding motor. 2 . The dishwashing appliance of claim 1 , wherein the stationary grinding ring or the second filter includes an annular slot engaging the other of the stationary grinding ring or the second filter. 3 . The dishwashing appliance of claim 1 , wherein the grinding motor driving the rotatable grinding plate is independent from one or more motors driving a recirculation pump and/or a drainage pump. 4 . The dishwashing appliance of claim 1 , wherein the grinding motor is coupled to one or more gears to rotate a diverter plate when the one or more gears are engaged. 5 . The dishwashing appliance of claim 4 , wherein the grinding plate is rotated by the grinding motor in a first direction and/or speed while the diverter plate is rotated by the grinding motor in a second direction and/or speed. 6 . The dishwashing appliance of claim 4 , wherein at least one of the one or more gears is a one way bearing. 7 . The dishwashing appliance of claim 4 , wherein the diverter plate is selectively engageable by moving at least one of the one or more gears via a solenoid or wax motor. 8 . The dishwashing appliance of claim 1 , wherein the first filtering permeability is greater than the second filtering permeability. 9 . The dishwashing appliance of claim 1 , wherein the first filtering permeability is smaller than the second filtering permeability. 10 . The dishwashing appliance of claim 1 , further including a third filter in an approximate cylinder/cone-shaped configuration with a third filtering permeability surrounding the second filter. 11 . The dishwashing appliance of claim 1 , further comprising a rotatable self-cleaning device engaging at least a portion of the second filter. 12 . The dishwashing appliance of claim 11 , wherein the rotatable self-cleaning device is positioned within the grinding volume portion, wherein the rotatable self-cleaning device comprises: a plurality of blades arranged axially within the grind volume portion. 13 . A filtration assembly for an appliance including a tub defining a washing chamber having a tub bottom, the filtration assembly positioned adjacent the tub bottom, the filtration assembly comprising: a first filter with a first filtering permeability to allow the dishwashing fluid to flow into the filtration assembly; a cylindrical second filter with a second filtering permeability coupled to the first filter; a sump housing through which the second filter is disposed therein, the cylindrical second filter adjacent an inner surface of the sump housing, an interior of the cylindrical second filter defines a grinding volume portion of the sump housing and an exterior of the cylindrical second filter defines a recirculation volume portion of the sump housing; a cylindrical stationary grinding ring engaging a bottom end of the second filter, wherein an interior of the cylindrical stationary grinding ring defines the grinding volume portion of the sump housing and an exterior of the cylindrical stationary grinding ring defines the recirculation volume portion the sump housing, and wherein the cylindrical stationary grinding ring includes one or more notches communicating between the recirculation volume portion and the grinding volume portion; a rotatable grinding plate rotates within the interior of the cylindrical stationary grinding ring; and a grinding motor driving a shaft to rotate the rotatable grinding plate. 14 . The filtration assembly of claim 13 , wherein a rotatable self-cleaning device is rotated by the grinding motor to physically contact at least a portion of the second filter to remove dishwashing debris. 15 . The filtration assembly of claim 13 , wherein a rotatable self-cleaning device is rotated by a motor, independent from the grinding motor, to physically contact at least a portion of the second filter to remove dishwashing debris. 16 . The filtration assembly of claim 13 , wherein a rotatable self-cleaning device is rotated by a rotational force by virtue of the dishwashing fluid flowing therethrough to physically contact at least a portion of the second filter to remove dishwashing debris. 17 . The filtration assembly of claim 13 , further including a third filter with a third filtering permeability surrounding at least a portion of the second filter. 18 . A filtration assembly for a dishwashing appliance comprising: a first filter in fluid communication with a downstream cylindrical second filter, wherein the cylindrical second filter includes a bottom end; a cylindrical stationary grinding ring having a top end engaging the bottom end of the cylindrical second filter; wherein an interior of each one of the cylindrical second filter and the cylindrical stationary grinding ring define a grinding volume portion and an exterior of each one of the cylindrical second filter and the cylindrical stationary grinding ring define a recirculation volume portion; a rotatable grinding plate is positioned within the grinding volume portion defined by the interior of the cylindrical second filter and the cylindrical stationary grinding ring; and a grinding motor rotates the rotatable grinding plate relative to the cylindrical stationary grinding ring. 19 . The filtration assembly of claim 18 , wherein the cylindrical stationary grinding ring includes a plurality of notches in communication with both the interior and the exterior of the cylindrical stationary grinding ring. 20 . The filtration assembly of claim 18 , wherein the recirculation volume portion is substantially annular in shape and the grinding volume portion is substantially cylindrical in shape.
