Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A graft preparation system includes a fixation implant including a strand of suture wrapped around a graft preparation card. A tenaculum includes a first arm having a first tooth and a second arm having a second tooth that are pivotally connected at a pivot. The first arm includes a slot between the first tooth and the pivot that receives the graft preparation card. A tape suture assembly includes a tape suture and a first suture strand. The tape suture is positioned on a graft, and the tape suture is attached to the graft with a stitch formed with the first suture strand.

What is claimed is: 1 . A graft preparation system comprising: a graft preparation card having a longitudinal axis; a suture strand wrapped around the graft preparation card; and a button including a button hole, wherein the suture strand passes through the button hole of the button. 2 . The graft preparation card as recited in claim 1 wherein the button includes another button hole. 3 . The graft preparation card as recited in claim 2 including a suture construct including a first free suture strand, a second free suture strand, a first adjustable eyesplice, and a second adjustable eyesplice, wherein the first adjustable eyesplice and the second adjustable eyesplice are interconnected by an adjustable loop. 4 . The graft preparation card as recited in claim 3 wherein the graft preparation card includes a plurality of holes that receive the suture strand, the first free suture strand, and the second free suture strand wrap. 5 . The graft preparation system as recited in claim 3 wherein the suture strand, the first free suture strand, and the second free suture strand wrap around a first cleat and a second cleat of the graft preparation card. 6 . The graft preparation card as recited in claim 3 wherein the suture strand, the first free suture strand, and the second free suture strand wrap pass through the button hole and the another button hole. 7 . The graft preparation system as recited in claim 1 wherein the graft preparation card is substantially rectangular in shape including a graft edge, an opposing tab edge, a first cleat edge, and an opposing second cleat edge. 8 . The graft preparation system as recited in claim 7 wherein the first cleat edge defines a first cleat and the opposing second cleat edge defines a second cleat. 9 . The graft preparation system as recited in claim 1 including a tape suture assembly including a tape suture, a first suture strand, and a second suture strand, wherein the first suture strand and the second suture strand extend from a distal end portion of the tape suture, and the tape suture is attached to a graft with a plurality of stitches formed with the first suture strand and the second suture strand. 10 . The graft preparation system as recited in claim 9 wherein the graft preparing card includes a keyhole shaped opening defined by a passage having a longitudinal axis that extends from the graft edge of the graft preparation card and terminates in an oval opening. 11 . The graft preparation system as recited in claim 10 wherein the graft preparation card includes a first hole and a second hole located on each side of the passage and equally spaced from the passage. 12 . The graft preparation system as recited in claim 11 including a slit extending from the graft edge to the first hole and from the graft edge to the second hole. 13 . The graft preparation system as recited in 11 wherein the graft preparation card includes a third hole, a fourth hole, and a fifth hole. 14 . The graft preparation system as recited in claim 13 wherein the third hole is located in an area where the opposing tab edge and the first cleat edge intersect, the fourth hole is located in an area where the opposing tab edge and the opposing second cleat edge intersect, and the fifth hole is located in an area where the graft edge and the opposing second cleat edge intersect, wherein the fourth hole and the fifth hole are aligned to be substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis. 15 . The graft preparation system as recited in claim 1 including a first groove and a second groove each located above the first hole and the second hole, respectively, on the graft edge, a third groove located on the opposing tab edge that is aligned with the first groove and a fourth groove located on the opposing tab edge that is aligned with the second groove, wherein a tab is located between the third groove and the fourth groove on the opposing tab edge. 16 . The graft preparation system as recited in claim 15 wherein the first groove and the third groove are aligned to be substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis, and the second groove and the fourth groove are aligned to be substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis. 17 . The graft preparation system as recited in claim 16 wherein the button is located on a front side of the graft preparation card, and the eyesplices of the suture construct extend from the button and are each received in one of the third groove and fourth groove on the opposing tab edge of the graft preparation card, the eyesplices extend on a back side of the graft preparation card such that each of the eyesplices are received in one of the first groove and the second groove on the graft edge and slid through one of the slits to be received in the first hole and the second hole, respectively, and the loop of the suture construct is located between the holes on a front side of the graft preparation card.
