Official abstract text for this publication.
Systems for performing radiation exposure monitoring that accommodate operating in multiple frequency bands are provided. A WTRU may be configured to monitor radiation exposure by determining an averaged power over an evaluation period. The radiation may be measured over a moving averaging window. The averaged measured power may be compared against SAR or MPE limits which may be defined in terms of normalized fractions or ratios in dB. The WTRU may be configured to measure for an averaged power periodically and/or in response to triggers.

What is claimed: 1. A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) comprising: a processor configured at least to: receive information indicating a power density value; receive an indication of a threshold fraction of the power density value; determine a duty cycle; determine a measured power density associated with the duty cycle; determine the measured power density satisfies the threshold fraction of the power density value; generate a report associated with a determination that the measured power density satisfies the threshold fraction of the power density value; and transmit the report. 2. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the power density value is a power density threshold value. 3. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the processor configured to determine the duty cycle is further configured to receive information indicating the duty cycle. 4. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the measured power density is associated with measurements taken over a period of time. 5. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the information indicating the power density value comprises information indicating a maximum permitted exposure (MPE). 6. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the report indicates an available power density. 7. The WTRU of claim 6 , wherein the available power density is indicated as a fraction of the power density value. 8. The WTRU of claim 1 , the processor is further configured to: if the WTRU receives an acknowledgment before a time period elapses, apply a modified configuration. 9. The WTRU of claim 8 , wherein the modified configuration is received by the WTRU from a network device. 10. The WTRU of claim 8 , wherein the time period is measured from a time that the report is transmitted. 11. A method comprising: receiving, by a wireless transmit and receive unit (WTRU), information indicating a power density value; receiving, by the WTRU, an indication of a threshold fraction of the power density value; determining, by the WTRU, a duty cycle; determining, by the WTRU, a measured power density associated with the duty cycle; determining, by the WTRU, that the measured power density satisfies the threshold fraction of the power density value; generating, by the WTRU, a report associated with determining that the measured power density satisfies the threshold fraction of the power density value; and transmitting, by the WTRU, the report. 12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the power density value is a power density threshold value. 13. The method of claim 11 , wherein determining the duty cycle comprises receiving information indicating the duty cycle. 14. The method of claim 11 , wherein the measured power density is associated with measurements taken over a period of time. 15. The method of claim 11 , wherein the information indicating the power density value comprises information indicating a maximum permitted exposure (MPE). 16. The method of claim 11 , wherein the report indicates an available power density. 17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the available power density is indicated as a fraction of the power density value. 18. The method of claim 11 , further comprising: if the WTRU receives an acknowledgment before a time period elapses, applying a modified configuration.
