The invention claimed is: 1. A supplementary device for a manually operable injection device, the supplementary device comprising a body defining a passage through which an injection device is slidable; and a securing unit configured to secure the body to the injection device in a specific position when the injection device is received through the passage, wherein the securing unit comprises an actuating member pivotably mounted in the body having at least one engaging element, the engaging element being configured to engage in an indent on the injection device when the body is disposed in the specific position relative to an outer surface of the injection device and the actuating member is pivoted towards the body, wherein the actuating member comprises a U-shaped frame having a base, a first pivot leg, and a second pivot leg, wherein the first pivot leg and the second pivot leg extend from the base, and wherein the first pivot leg, the second pivot leg and the base are configured to simultaneously pivot relative to the body to engage the engaging element in the indent. 2. A supplementary device according to claim 1 , wherein the passage is an elongate bore formed in the body. 3. A supplementary device according to claim 1 , wherein the actuating member is configured to pivot towards the body about a pivot axis that extends perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the passage. 4. A supplementary device according to claim 1 , wherein the engaging element comprises a first protuberance formed on an inner face of the first pivot leg. 5. A supplementary device according to claim 4 , the securing unit further comprising a second protuberance formed on an inner face of the second pivot leg. 6. A supplementary device according to claim 1 , wherein the securing unit further comprises an operating button configured to slide relative to the body, wherein sliding of the operating button relative to the body causes the actuating member to pivot towards the body. 7. A supplementary device according to claim 6 , wherein: the securing unit further comprises a first guide member and a second guide member, each of the first guide member and the second guide member slidably mounted to the body and coupled to the operating button; the first guide member comprises a first guide slot arranged to receive a first guide rod extending from the first pivot leg; and the second guide member comprises a second guide slot arranged to receive a second guide rod extending from the second pivot leg. 8. A supplementary device according to claim 7 , wherein the first guide slot and the second guide slot each comprise a first section, a second section, and a third section, wherein the first section and the third section are respectively formed in the first guide member and the second guide member to extend parallel to a path of the first guide member and the second guide member relative to the body, and wherein the second section extends at an angle to the path of the respective one of the first guide member and the second guide member relative to the body. 9. A supplementary device according to claim 6 , wherein sliding the operating button in a first direction relative to the body causes the actuating member to pivot towards the body, and wherein sliding the operating button in a second direction relative to the body causes the actuating member to pivot away from the body. 10. A supplementary device according to claim 1 , further comprising a locating unit configured to locate the body in a specific position relative to an outer surface of the injection device. 11. A supplementary device according to claim 10 , wherein the locating unit comprises one or both of a locating step configured to mate with a shoulder formed on the outer surface of the injection device, and a guide slot configured to mate with a cap retaining protrusion on the injection device. 12. A supplementary device according to claim 10 , further comprising an auxiliary cap retaining element configured to releasably retain a cap received over an end of the injection device when the supplementary device is secured to the injection device. 13. A supplementary device according to claim 1 , further comprising an optical reading arrangement and wherein the optical reading arrangement is directed at a display of the injection device when the body is mounted to the injection device in a specific position relative to an outer surface of the injection device. 14. A kit comprising an injection device and a supplementary device according to claim 1 . 15. A supplementary device according to claim 6 , wherein: the securing unit further comprises a first guide member slidably mounted to the body and coupled to the operating button; and the first guide member comprises a first guide slot arranged to receive a first guide rod extending from the first pivot leg.
