The invention claimed is: 1. A method for manufacturing a solid electrolyte sheet containing β-alumina and/or β″-alumina and having a thickness of 1 mm or less and a voidage of 20% or less, the method comprising the steps of: (a) making raw material powder containing Al 2 O 3 as a main component into a slurry; (b) applying the slurry on a base material and drying the slurry to obtain a green sheet having a thickness of 0.1 to 1.8 mm; and (c) isostatically pressing the green sheet and then firing the green sheet to produce β-alumina and/or β″-alumina; wherein the raw material powder consists of, in % by mole, 65 to 98% Al 2 O 3 , 13.7 to 20% Na 2 O, 5.5 to 10% of MgO, 4.7 to 15% ZrO 2 , 0.2 to 5% Y 2 O 3 . 2. The method for manufacturing a solid electrolyte sheet according to claim 1 , wherein the green sheet is pressed at a pressure of 5 MPa or more and 40 MPa or less.
