A component for a vehicle interior is disclosed. The component may comprise a structural substrate comprising a fiber panel and a structure comprising a resin. The fiber panel may comprise a thickness along a periphery; the structure may comprise a border of the structural substrate along the thickness of the periphery of the fiber panel. The periphery of the fiber panel may comprise an edge; the structure may be formed on the edge. The fiber panel may comprise a compression-formed fiber panel. The fiber panel may comprise a plurality of fibers and a resin configured to bind the fibers. The structure may comprise a feature providing an ancillary component; the feature may comprise a molded resin. The structure may be formed in a hole in the fiber panel. The component may comprise at least one of a center console; floor console; door panel; instrument panel; headliner; overhead console; sun visor.

The invention claimed is: 1. A trim component for a vehicle interior comprising: a rigid composite panel comprising a structural substrate comprising a compression-formed fiber panel formed from a fiber panel comprising a plurality of fibers and a resin configured to bind the fibers; and a resin structure comprising a resin comprising an injection-molded resin; wherein the compression-formed fiber panel comprises a thickness along a periphery; wherein the resin structure comprises a border of the structural substrate along the thickness of the periphery of the compression-formed fiber panel; wherein the periphery of the compression-formed fiber panel comprises an edge; wherein the resin structure comprising the border of the structural substrate comprises the resin formed on the edge; wherein the resin structure comprising the border of the structural substrate comprises the injection-molded resin formed on the edge to provide rigidity for the rigid composite panel comprising the structural substrate; wherein the compression-formed fiber panel formed from the fiber panel comprising the plurality of fibers and the resin configured to bind the fibers is configured to bind to the resin structure formed by injection-molded resin; so that the rigid composite panel comprises the compression-formed fiber panel formed from the fiber panel comprising the plurality of fibers and the resin configured to bind the fibers is bonded with the resin structure formed by the injection-molded resin. 2. The component of claim 1 wherein the fiber panel comprises the plurality of fibers and the resin configured to liquefy to bind the fibers to form the structural substrate comprising the compression-formed fiber panel. 3. The component of claim 1 wherein the border comprises a dimensionally accurate border. 4. The component of claim 1 wherein the resin structure formed by the injection-molded resin is bonded to the compression-formed fiber panel to reinforce the compression-formed fiber panel. 5. The component of claim 1 wherein the resin structure comprises a molded feature providing an ancillary component. 6. The component of claim 1 wherein the resin structure comprises at least one molded feature; wherein the at least one molded feature comprises a molded feature configured to support the fiber panel. 7. The component of claim 6 wherein the at least one molded feature comprises at least one of (a) a rib; (b) a ridge; (c) a runner; (d) a feature formed at a joint. 8. The component of claim 1 further comprising a cover for the structural substrate. 9. The component of claim 1 comprising at least one of (a) a center console; (b) a floor console; (c) a door panel; (d) an instrument panel; (e) a headliner; (f) an overhead console; (g) a sun visor; (h) a trim component; (i) a trim component comprising the fiber panel with the structural substrate comprising the resin providing structural properties comprising rigidity and strength; (j) a composite panel; (k) a rigid composite panel comprising a molded feature; (l) a rigid composite panel comprising the fiber panel and the structural substrate comprising the resin structure to provide rigidity and strength. 10. A component for a vehicle interior comprising: a rigid composite panel comprising a structural substrate comprising a compression-formed fiber panel formed from a fiber panel comprising a plurality of fibers and a resin to bind the fibers; and a resin structure comprising a resin; wherein the compression-formed fiber panel comprises a thickness along an edge; wherein the resin structure comprises a border of the structural substrate along the thickness of the edge of the compression-formed fiber panel; wherein the edge of the compression-formed fiber panel comprises an outer edge; wherein the resin structure comprising the resin comprises the border of the structural substrate formed on the outer edge of the compression-formed fiber panel; wherein the resin structure comprising the resin provides rigidity for the rigid composite panel comprising the structural substrate; wherein the resin structure comprises a feature providing an ancillary component; wherein the feature providing the ancillary component comprises a molded resin to bond to the compression-formed fiber panel formed from the fiber panel comprising the plurality of fibers and the resin to bind the fibers; so that the rigid composite panel comprises the compression-formed fiber panel formed from the fiber panel comprising the plurality of fibers and the resin to bind the fibers bonded with the resin structure comprising the feature comprising the ancillary component formed by the molded resin. 11. The component of claim 10 wherein the compression-formed fiber panel comprises a shape. 12. The component of claim 11 wherein the fiber panel comprises the plurality of fibers and the resin to bind the fibers to form the shape of the structural substrate of the compression-formed fiber panel. 13. The component of claim 10 wherein the resin structure comprises the molded resin to bond with the compression-formed fiber panel at a joint. 14. A component for a vehicle interior comprising: a rigid composite panel comprising a structural substrate comprising a compression-formed fiber panel formed from a fiber panel comprising a plurality of fibers and a resin to bind the fibers and a resin structure comprising a resin; wherein the compression-formed fiber panel comprises a thickness along an outer edge; wherein the resin structure comprises a border of the structural substrate along the thickness of the outer edge of the compression-formed fiber panel; wherein the resin structure comprising the resin comprises an injection-molded resin; wherein the border of the structural substrate comprises the injection-molded resin at the outer edge of the compression-formed fiber panel; wherein the border of the structural substrate provides rigidity for the rigid composite panel; wherein the resin structure comprising the resin is bonded to the compression-formed fiber panel formed from the fiber panel comprising the plurality of fibers and the resin to bind the fibers; so that the rigid composite panel comprises the compression-formed fiber panel formed from the fiber panel comprising the plurality of fibers and the resin to bind the fibers bonded with the resin structure. 15. The component of claim 14 further comprising a cover for the structural substrate. 16. The component of claim 14 wherein the border comprises a dimensionally accurate border. 17. The component of claim 14 wherein the resin structure comprises a feature providing an ancillary component. 18. The component of claim 14 wherein the resin structure comprising the resin is bonded to the fiber panel; wherein the resin provides structural properties of rigidity and strength for the compression-formed fiber panel. 19. The component of claim 14 wherein the outer edge comprises an edge at a periphery of the fiber panel. 20. The component of claim 14 wherein the compression-formed fiber panel comprising the structural substrate comprises a shape and the resin structure to reinforce the rigid composite panel.
