Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for wireless communication of analyte data. In this regard, in embodiments, a mobile includes a transceiver configured to transmit and receive wireless signals. The mobile device includes circuitry operatively coupled to the transceiver. The mobile device also includes a non-transitory computer-readable medium operatively coupled to the circuitry and storing instructions that, when executed, cause the mobile device to perform a number of operations. One such operation is to obtain a derivative of a first signal received via a first link. Another such operation is to obtain a derivative of a second signal received via a second link; and. Yet another such operation is to generate a selection for connection to an analyte sensor system, based on a comparison of the derivative of the first signal and the derivative of the second signal.

What is claimed is: 1. A method for wireless communication performed by an analyte sensor system, the method comprising: transmitting a first one or more advertisement messages from an analyte sensor system to a display device in accordance with a first pattern of advertising associated with at least one of a first advertisement message interval, a first advertisement window interval, or a first advertisement duration length; establishing a wireless connection between the analyte sensor system and the display device based on the first one or more advertisement messages; determining that the wireless connection with the display device is lost or terminated; and in response to determining that the wireless connection with the display device is lost or terminated, adaptively switching to transmitting a second one or more advertisement messages in accordance a second pattern of advertising associated with least one of a second advertisement message interval, a second advertisement window interval, or a second advertisement duration length from the analyte sensor system to the display device, wherein at least one of: the second advertisement message interval is different than the first advertisement message interval, the second advertisement window interval is different than the first advertisement window interval, or the second advertisement duration length is different than the first advertisement duration length. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining that the wireless connection with the display device is lost or terminated includes determining that the analyte sensor system and the display device are unable to agree on a proposed or modified set of connection parameters for maintaining the wireless connection. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining that the wireless connection with the display device is lost or terminated includes determining that an acknowledgment message has not been received from the display device in response to one or more ping messages transmitted by the analyte sensor system to the display device. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the wireless connection comports to a continuous connection model, the method further comprising: subsequent to or while transmitting the second one or more advertisement messages, determining that the wireless connection with the display device cannot be maintained; and transitioning from the continuous connection model to an intermittent connection model. 5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: subsequent to or while transmitting the second one or more advertisement messages, determining that the wireless connection with the display device cannot be maintained; and terminating transmission of the second one or more advertisement messages. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first advertisement message interval is a time interval between successive or sequential advertisements of the first one or more advertisement messages transmitted associated with the first advertisement window interval. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the display device is an insulin delivery device. 8. An analyte sensor system comprising: an analyte sensor operable to generate analyte measurements; a wireless transmitter; a memory comprising executable instructions; a processor in data communication with the memory and configured to execute the instructions to cause the analyte sensor system to: transmit, through the wireless transmitter, a first one or more advertisement messages to a display device in accordance with a first pattern of advertising associated with at least one of a first advertisement message interval, a first advertisement window interval, or a first advertisement duration length; establish a wireless connection with the display device based on the first one or more advertisement messages; and determine that the wireless connection with the display device is lost or terminated; in response to determining that the wireless connection with the display device is lost or terminated, adaptively switch to transmitting, through the wireless transmitter, a second one or more advertisement messages in accordance a second pattern of advertising associated with least one of a second advertisement message interval, a second advertisement window interval, or a second advertisement duration length to the display device, wherein at least one of: the second advertisement message interval is different than the first advertisement message interval, the second advertisement window interval is different than the first advertisement window interval, or the second advertisement duration length is different than the first advertisement duration length. 9. The analyte sensor system of claim 8 , wherein the processor is further configured to cause the analyte sensor system to determine that the wireless connection with the display device is lost or terminated comprises the processor being configured to cause the analyte sensor to determine that the analyte sensor system and the display device are unable to agree on a proposed or modified set of connection parameters for maintaining the wireless connection. 10. The analyte sensor system of claim 8 , wherein the processor is further configured to cause the analyte sensor system to determine that the wireless connection with the display device is lost or terminated comprises the processor being configured to cause the analyte sensor to determine that an acknowledgment message has not been received from the display device in response to one or more ping messages transmitted by the analyte sensor system to the display device. 11. The analyte sensor system of claim 8 , wherein the wireless connection comports to a continuous connection model, and the processor is further configured to cause the analyte sensor system to: subsequent to or while transmitting the second one or more advertisement messages, determining that the wireless connection with the display device cannot be maintained; and transitioning from the continuous connection model to an intermittent connection model. 12. The analyte sensor system of claim 8 , wherein the processor is further configured to cause the analyte sensor system to: determine that the wireless connection with the display device cannot be maintained subsequent to or while transmitting the second one or more advertisement messages; and terminate transmission of the second one or more advertisement messages. 13. The analyte sensor system of claim 8 , wherein the first advertisement message interval is a time interval between successive or sequential advertisements of the first one or more advertisement messages transmitted associated with the first advertisement window interval. 14. The analyte sensor system of claim 8 , wherein the display device is an insulin delivery device. 15. A non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by an analyte sensor system, causes the analyte sensor system to perform a method comprising: transmitting a first one or more advertisement messages from an analyte sensor system to a display device in accordance with a first pattern of advertising associated with at least one of a first advertisement message interval, a first advertisement window interval, or a first advertisement duration length; establishing a wireless connection between the analyte sensor system and the display device based on the first one or more advertisement messages; determining that the wireless connection with the display device is lost or terminated; and in response to determining that the wireless connecti
