Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Systems and methods provide presentation control of media content. An exemplary embodiment receives media content that is currently received in a broadcasted media content stream; presents on a display a first presentation area, wherein the first presentation area presents a video portion of the media content; receives a user command that initiates a video presentation trick function; and presents in response to the user command a second presentation area, wherein the second presentation area presents the video portion of the media content in accordance with the video presentation trick function, and wherein the first presentation area and the second presentation area are concurrently presented on the display.

First claim

I claim: 1. A method comprising: presenting, via a display, a first presentation area that presents a first image associated with a first song retrieved by a first decoder from at least one storage device; receiving a user command indicating a selection of a second presentation area, wherein the second presentation area is associated with location information for a second decoder to retrieve a second song identified by the second presentation area from the at least one storage device while the first song is currently playing; retrieving, by the second decoder, the second song from the at least one storage device based on the location information; presenting, via the display, the second song corresponding to a second image presented in the second presentation area; and retrieving, by the first decoder, a third song from the at least one storage device while the second song is currently playing. 2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving a second user command that pauses presentation of a first video portion of a media content in the first presentation area while a second video portion of the media content is presented in the second presentation area; and muting a first audio portion of the media content presented in synchronism with the first video portion of the media content presented in the first presentation area in response to the second user command. 3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving a second user command that initiates a video toggle function, wherein a video portion of a media content presented in accordance with the video toggle function is moved from the second presentation area to the first presentation area. 4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving a second user command that selects the second presentation area; and in response to the second user command, moving presentation of a video portion of media content presented in accordance with a video presentation function from the second presentation area to the first presentation area. 5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: presenting an arrow indicating on the second presentation area a currently presented song, wherein at least one first area left of the arrow is previous song and at least one second area right of the arrow is a next song. 6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: presenting a plurality of second presentation areas on the display, wherein each of the plurality of second presentation areas presents an image associated with other songs available in audio content. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first image associated with the first song is contained in video content. 8. A system comprising: one or more processors; and one or more memories storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to perform a process comprising: presenting, via a display, a first presentation area that presents a first image associated with a first song retrieved by a first decoder from at least one storage device; receiving a user command indicating a selection of a second presentation area, wherein the second presentation area is associated with location information for a second decoder to retrieve a second song identified by the second presentation area from the at least one storage device while the first song is currently playing; retrieving, by the second decoder, the second song from the at least one storage device based on the location information; presenting, via the display, the second song corresponding to a second image presented in the second presentation area; and retrieving, by the first decoder, a third song from the at least one storage device while the second song is currently playing. 9. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the process further comprises: receiving a second user command that pauses presentation of a first video portion of a media content in the first presentation area while a second video portion of the media content is presented in the second presentation area; and muting a first audio portion of the media content presented in synchronism with the first video portion of the media content presented in the first presentation area in response to the second user command. 10. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the process further comprises: receiving a second user command that initiates a video toggle function, wherein a video portion of a media content presented in accordance with the video toggle function is moved from the second presentation area to the first presentation area. 11. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the process further comprises: receiving a second user command that selects the second presentation area; and in response to the second user command, moving presentation of a video portion of media content presented in accordance with a video presentation function from the second presentation area to the first presentation area. 12. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the process further comprises: presenting an arrow indicating on the second presentation area a currently presented song, wherein at least one first area left of the arrow is previous song and at least one second area right of the arrow is a next song. 13. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the process further comprises: presenting a plurality of second presentation areas on the display, wherein each of the plurality of second presentation areas presents an image associated with other songs available in audio content. 14. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the first image associated with the first song is contained in video content. 15. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computing system, cause the computing system to perform operations comprising: presenting, via a display, a first presentation area that presents a first image associated with a first song retrieved by a first decoder from at least one storage device; receiving a user command indicating a selection of a second presentation area, wherein the second presentation area is associated with location information for a second decoder to retrieve a second song identified by the second presentation area from the at least one storage device while the first song is currently playing; retrieving, by the second decoder, the second song from the at least one storage device based on the location information; presenting, via the display, the second song corresponding to a second image presented in the second presentation area; and retrieving, by the first decoder, a third song from the at least one storage device while the second song is currently playing. 16. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise: receiving a second user command that pauses presentation of a first video portion of a media content in the first presentation area while a second video portion of the media content is presented in the second presentation area; and muting a first audio portion of the media content presented in synchronism with the first video portion of the media content presented in the first presentation area in response to the second user command. 17. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise: receiving a second user command that initiates a video toggle function, wherein a video portion of a media content presented in accordance with the video toggle function is moved from the second presentation area to the first prese
