Systems, devices, and methods for treating a diseased native valve in a patient, the system comprising a compressible and expandable frame structure and an anchor. The anchor comprises a wire having a free end and is configured to be fully advanced from an atrial side of a native valve in a patient into a ventricle of the heart and anchor the frame structure to the native valve when the frame structure is in the expanded configuration adjacent the native valve.

What is claimed is: 1. A method for treating a mitral valve in a patient, the method comprising: positioning an anchor on an atrial side of the mitral valve; advancing the anchor from the atrial side of the mitral valve to a ventricular side of the mitral valve such that the anchor is located only on the ventricular side of the mitral valve; rotating the anchor around one or more chordae tendineae on the ventricular side of the mitral valve; positioning a frame structure in a collapsed configuration within the anchor; and expanding the frame structure against the anchor to anchor the frame structure in the mitral valve. 2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transitioning the anchor from an elongated delivery configuration to a helical configuration on the atrial side of the mitral valve. 3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising transitioning the anchor from an elongated delivery configuration to a deployed configuration on the atrial side of the mitral valve. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein advancing the anchor comprises pushing the anchor through the mitral valve. 5. The method of claim 1 , wherein advancing the anchor further comprises rotating the anchor through the mitral valve. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the frame structure comprises a first and a second opposite ends, and wherein expanding the frame structure comprises expanding the frame structure such that the first end extends above the atrial side of the mitral valve and the second end extends below the ventricular side of the mitral valve. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the frame structure is self-expanding, and wherein expanding the frame structure comprises releasing the frame structure from a radial constriction by a delivery device. 8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising rotating the anchor around one or more valve leaflets of the mitral valve. 9. The method of claim 1 , wherein rotating the anchor around the one or more chordae tendineae causes the one or more chordae tendineae to be pulled radially inwards. 10. The method of claim 1 , wherein a free end of the anchor is disposed radially outward from a main body of the anchor in order to facilitate rotation around the one or more chordae tendineae. 11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the anchor comprises a helical shape in a deployed configuration. 12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the anchor comprises a spiral shape in a deployed configuration. 13. The method of claim 1 , wherein the anchor has a free end that comprises an atraumatic tip. 14. The method of claim 1 , further comprising delivering the anchor to the mitral valve with a delivery device in a delivery configuration, wherein a proximal end of the anchor is detachably coupled to the delivery device. 15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the delivery device comprises an outer sheath and an inner shaft disposed within the outer sheath. 16. The method of claim 15 , further comprising steering a distal end of the outer sheath prior to deploying the anchor. 17. The method of claim 15 , further comprising steering a distal end of the outer sheath while advancing the anchor. 18. The method of claim 15 , wherein the anchor in the delivery configuration is positioned within the inner shaft. 19. The method of claim 18 , further comprising deploying the anchor by pushing the anchor out of the inner shaft.
