Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Disclosed are various embodiments for managing radio-based private networks. In one embodiment, a request is received from an organization for a provider to provision a radio-based private network to cover a site of the organization. Equipment is preconfigured to implement the radio-based private network before shipping the equipment to the organization. A core network is provisioned for the organization.

The invention claimed is: 1. A computer-implemented method, comprising: receiving, by at least one computing device, a request from an organization for a provider to provision a radio-based private network and an associated core network to cover a site of the organization; determining, by the at least one computing device, an arrangement of one or more cells to cover the site; causing, by the at least one computing device, cell equipment to be preconfigured to implement the one or more cells before shipping the cell equipment to the organization; and provisioning, by the at least one computing device, the associated core network for the organization. 2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the cell equipment comprises a computer server. 3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the associated core network is provisioned on premises of the organization. 4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the associated core network is provisioned in a provider substrate extension of a cloud provider network. 5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising: determining to add an additional cell to the radio-based private network; and causing additional cell equipment to be preconfigured to implement the additional cell before shipping the additional cell equipment to the organization. 6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising reserving frequency spectrum for the one or more cells via a spectrum reservation service. 7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising: implementing a first quality-of-service level on the radio-based private network for a first device type; and implementing a second quality-of-service level on the radio-based private network for a second device type. 8. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising probing, by the at least one computing device, an existing private network of the organization to determine at least one requirement for the radio-based private network, wherein the least one requirement for the radio-based private network comprises an initial threshold for at least one performance metric for the radio-based private network. 9. A system, comprising: at least one computing device configured to at least: receive a request from an organization for a provider to provision a radio-based private network and an associated core network to cover a site of the organization; cause cell equipment to be preconfigured to implement one or more cells before shipping the cell equipment to the organization; and provision the associated core network for the organization. 10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the at least one computing device is further configured to determine an arrangement of the one or more cells to cover the site. 11. The system of claim 9 , wherein the at least one computing device is further configured to at least scale a quantity of resources allocated to the associated core network based at least in part on at least one of: a utilization metric or a latency metric. 12. The system of claim 9 , wherein the at least one computing device is further configured to at least implement differentiated quality-of-service levels in the radio-based private network. 13. The system of claim 9 , wherein the at least one computing device is configured to at least probe an existing private network of the organization to determine at least one requirement for the radio-based private network, wherein the least one requirement for the radio-based private network comprises an initial threshold for at least one performance metric for the radio-based private network. 14. A system, comprising: at least one computing device configured to at least: receive a request from an organization for a provider to provision a radio-based private network to cover a site of the organization; cause equipment to be preconfigured to implement the radio-based private network before shipping the equipment to the organization; and provision a core network for the organization. 15. The system of claim 14 , wherein the at least one computing device is further configured to at least reserve a spectrum assignment for the radio-based private network with a spectrum reservation service. 16. The system of claim 14 , wherein the at least one computing device is further configured to at least determine an arrangement of the equipment to cover the site. 17. The system of claim 14 , wherein the at least one computing device is further configured to at least provision one or more network slices on the radio-based private network to provide differentiated quality-of-service. 18. The system of claim 14 , wherein at least a portion of the core network is provisioned in a cloud provider network. 19. The system of claim 14 , wherein at least a portion of the core network is provisioned in a server on premises of the organization. 20. The system of claim 14 , wherein the equipment comprises a computer server.
