Official abstract text for this publication.
An electronic device concurrently displays a first user interface of first software and status information for an application that is different from the first software. The status information includes content of the application. As a state of the application changes, the device updates the content of the application displayed in the status information. In response to detecting an input corresponding to a request to display a different, second user interface of different, second software, while concurrently displaying the first user interface and a respective user interface object that includes the status information, the device ceases to display the first user interface and the respective user interface object, and displays the second user interface including content of the application, including, as the state of the application changes, updating the content of the application displayed in the second user interface, which includes information that is different from the status information.

What is claimed is: 1. A method, comprising: at an electronic device with a display device and an input device: concurrently displaying: a first user interface corresponding to first software; and status information for an application that is different from the first software, wherein the status information includes content of the application, including, as a state of the application changes, updating the content of the application displayed in the status information; while displaying a respective user interface object that includes the status information concurrently with the first user interface, detecting a first user input corresponding to a request to display a second user interface corresponding to second software, wherein the second user interface is different from the first user interface, and the second software is different from the first software; and in response to detecting the first user input: ceasing to display the first user interface; ceasing to display the respective user interface object that includes the status information; and displaying, via the display device, the second user interface, including displaying in the second user interface content of the application, including, as the state of the application changes, updating the content of the application displayed in the second user interface, wherein the content of the application displayed in the second user interface includes information that is different from the status information. 2. The method of claim 1 , including, prior to concurrently displaying the first user interface and the status information: displaying, via the display device, a third user interface that includes content of the application, including, as a state of the application changes, updating the content of the application displayed in the third user interface, wherein the third user interface corresponds to third software that is different from the first software and from the second software; while displaying the third user interface, detecting, via the input device, a second user input corresponding to a request to dismiss the third user interface; and in response to detecting the second user input: ceasing to display the third user interface; wherein concurrently displaying the first user interface and the status information is performed in response to detecting the second user input. 3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the third software is the application, the third user interface is a user interface of the application, and the second user interface is a wake screen user interface. 4. The method of claim 2 , wherein the third user interface includes more content of the application than the second user interface. 5. The method of claim 2 , including: while displaying the third user interface, detecting one or more inputs; and in response to detecting the one or more inputs, initiating an active mode of the application; wherein the content of the application is updated in accordance with a current state of the active mode of the application. 6. The method of claim 5 , wherein initiating the active mode of the application includes initiating a navigation mode of a map application. 7. The method of claim 5 , wherein initiating the active mode of the application includes initiating media playback of a media application. 8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second user interface includes more content of the application than the status information displayed concurrently with the first user interface. 9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first user interface is a home screen user interface that includes a plurality of application icons that are activatable to launch respective applications. 10. The method of claim 1 , including: in response to detecting the first user input: transitioning the electronic device from a first state to a power-saving state in which the electronic device uses less power than in the first state; wherein the second user interface corresponds to a user interface for the power-saving state. 11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first user input is directed to the status information that is displayed concurrently with the first user interface, and the second user interface is a user interface of the application. 12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first user input includes a swipe gesture that starts from a location that corresponds to an edge of the display device, and the second user interface is a wake screen user interface. 13. An electronic device, comprising: a display device; an input device; one or more processors; and memory storing one or more programs, wherein the one or more programs are configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for: concurrently displaying: a first user interface corresponding to first software; and status information for an application that is different from the first software, wherein the status information includes content of the application, including, as a state of the application changes, updating the content of the application displayed in the status information; while displaying a respective user interface object that includes the status information concurrently with the first user interface, detecting a first user input corresponding to a request to display a second user interface corresponding to second software, wherein the second user interface is different from the first user interface, and the second software is different from the first software; and in response to detecting the first user input: ceasing to display the first user interface; ceasing to display the respective user interface object that includes the status information; and displaying, via the display device, the second user interface, including displaying in the second user interface content of the application, including, as the state of the application changes, updating the content of the application displayed in the second user interface, wherein the content of the application displayed in the second user interface includes information that is different from the status information. 14. The electronic device of claim 13 , wherein the one or more programs include instructions for, prior to concurrently displaying the first user interface and the status information: displaying, via the display device, a third user interface that includes content of the application, including, as a state of the application changes, updating the content of the application displayed in the third user interface, wherein the third user interface corresponds to third software that is different from the first software and from the second software; while displaying the third user interface, detecting, via the input device, a second user input corresponding to a request to dismiss the third user interface; and in response to detecting the second user input: ceasing to display the third user interface; wherein concurrently displaying the first user interface and the status information is performed in response to detecting the second user input. 15. The electronic device of claim 14 , wherein the third software is the application, the third user interface is a user interface of the application, and the second user interface is a wake screen user interface. 16. The electronic device of claim 14 , wherein the third user interface includes more content of the application than the second user interface. 17.
