The invention is claimed as follows: 1. A system comprising: a processor; and a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: following a receipt, from a mobile device, of data embedded in a temporarily displayed machine-readable code captured by the mobile device and associated with an identifier of an electronic gaming machine, determine whether the received data embedded in the temporarily displayed machine-readable code is valid, wherein the determination is at least partially based on whether the temporarily displayed machine-readable code was captured during a predetermined duration of time associated with that temporarily displayed machine-readable code and during different predetermined durations of time, different temporarily displayed machine-readable codes are each associated with the identifier of the electronic gaming machine, and responsive to the determination being that the data embedded in the temporarily displayed machine-readable code is valid: establish a communication connection with the mobile device, receive, via the communication connection with the mobile device, data associated with an amount of funds associated with a cashless wagering account logged into by an identified user via a mobile device application of the mobile device and maintained by a gaming establishment cashless wagering server for the identified user, and responsive to an approval of a transfer of the amount of funds from the cashless wagering account, communicate data that results in a modification, based on the amount of funds, of a credit balance of the electronic gaming machine. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the approval of the transfer of the amount of funds from the cashless wagering account occurs in association with the gaming establishment cashless wagering server. 3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the cashless wagering account is independent of any loyalty tracking accounts associated with any users. 4. The system of claim 1 , wherein at least part of the data associated with at least one of the amount of funds and the cashless wagering account is determined in association with one of the electronic gaming machine, and a component of a gaming establishment management system associated with the electronic gaming machine. 5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the memory device comprises a plurality of further instructions that, when executed by the processor responsive to a determination that the credit balance of the electronic gaming machine is below a threshold amount and that the cashless wagering account is associated with at least a predetermined amount of funds, cause the processor to automatically communicate data that results in another modification, based on the predetermined amount of funds, of the credit balance of the electronic gaming machine. 6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the memory device comprises a plurality of further instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to receive data associated with a loyalty tracking account associated with the identified user, the data associated with the loyalty tracking account is accessed via the mobile device application of the mobile device. 7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the memory device comprises a plurality of further instructions that, when executed by the processor responsive to a receipt of data associated with another amount of funds to be cashed out from the credit balance of the electronic gaming machine, cause the processor to communicate data that results in a modification of the cashless wagering account based on the other amount of funds. 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the machine-readable code comprises a QR code. 9. A system comprising: a processor; and a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: following a receipt, from a mobile device, of data embedded in a temporarily displayed machine-readable code captured by the mobile device and associated with an identifier of an electronic gaming machine, determine whether the received data embedded in the temporarily displayed machine-readable code is valid, wherein the determination is at least partially based on whether the temporarily displayed machine-readable code was captured during a predetermined duration of time associated with that temporarily displayed machine-readable code and during different predetermined durations of time, different temporarily displayed machine-readable codes are each associated with the identifier of the electronic gaming machine, and responsive to the determination being that the data embedded in the temporarily displayed machine-readable code is valid: establish a communication connection with the mobile device, receive, via the communication connection with the mobile device, data associated with an amount of funds to be cashed out from a credit balance of the electronic gaming machine to a cashless wagering account logged into by an identified user via a mobile device application of the mobile device and maintained by a gaming establishment cashless wagering server for the identified user, and responsive to an approval of a transfer of the amount of funds to be cashed out from the credit balance of the electronic gaming machine, communicate data that results in a modification, based on the amount of funds, of the cashless wagering account. 10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the machine-readable code comprises a QR code. 11. The system of claim 9 , wherein at least part of the data associated with the amount of funds and the cashless wagering account is determined in association with any of the mobile device, the electronic gaming machine, and a component of a gaming establishment management system associated with the electronic gaming machine. 12. The system of claim 9 , wherein the memory device comprises a plurality of further instructions that, when executed by the processor responsive to an occurrence of a time-out event, automatically communicate data that results in a modification, based on an amount of the credit balance of the electronic gaming machine, of the cashless wagering account. 13. A method of operating a system, the method comprising: following a receipt, from a mobile device, of data embedded in a temporarily displayed machine-readable code captured by the mobile device and associated with an identifier of an electronic gaming machine, determining, by a processor, whether the received data embedded in the temporarily displayed machine-readable code is valid, wherein the determination is at least partially based on whether the temporarily displayed machine-readable code was captured during a predetermined duration of time associated with that temporarily displayed machine-readable code and during different predetermined durations of time, different temporarily displayed machine-readable codes are each associated with the identifier of the electronic gaming machine, and responsive to the determination being that the data embedded in the temporarily displayed machine-readable code is valid: establishing a communication connection with the mobile device, receiving, via the communication connection with the mobile device, data associated with an amount of funds associated with a cashless wagering account logged into by an identified user via a mobile device application of the mobile device and maintained by a gaming establishment cashless wagering server for the identified user, and responsive to an approval of a transfer of the amount of funds from the cashless wagering account, communicating data t
