What is claimed is: 1. The compound 1,1-dioxido-2,3-dihydrothiophen-3-yl 4-phenoxybenzenesulfonate having the structure of Formula (1): or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 2. The compound of claim 1 , wherein the compound is(S)-1,1-dioxido-2,3-dihydrothiophen-3-yl 4-phenoxybenzenesulfonate (1a): or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 3. The compound of claim 1 , wherein the compound is (R)-1,1-dioxido-2,3-dihydrothiophen-3-yl 4-phenoxybenzenesulfonate (1b): or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 4. The compound of claim 1 , wherein the compound is the free base. 5. The compound of claim 1 , wherein the compound is the hydrochloric acid salt. 6. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound of claim 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 7. The compound of claim 2 , wherein the compound is the free base. 8. The compound of claim 2 , wherein the compound is the hydrochloric acid salt. 9. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound of claim 2 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 10. The compound of claim 3 , wherein the compound is the free base. 11. The compound of claim 3 , wherein the compound is the hydrochloric acid salt. 12.
