There is provided a system including a processor of a network device in communication with a wireless network. The processor is configured to collect device generated service usage information for one or more devices in wireless communication on the wireless network, and provide the device generated service usage information in a syntax and a communication protocol that can be used by other network devices to augment or replace network generated service usage information for the one or more devices in wireless communication on the wireless network.

What is claimed is: 1. A method for use by a mobile end-user device in communication with a mobile access network, the method comprising: determining a first service activity associated with a first Internet data traffic flow of a plurality of Internet data traffic flows communicated between the mobile end-user device and the mobile access network; in response to determining the first service activity, allocating first data usage by the first Internet data traffic flow to the first service activity; determining a second service activity associated with a second Internet data traffic flow of the plurality of Internet data traffic flows communicated between the mobile end-user device and the mobile access network; in response to determining the second service activity, allocating second data usage by the second Internet data traffic flow to the second service activity; generating a first data usage record including the first data usage identified with the first service activity, and a second data usage record including the second data usage identified with the second service activity; and sending the first data usage record and the second data usage record to a network element. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining that the first service activity is associated with the first Internet data traffic flow comprises inspecting one or more Internet data packets of the first Internet data traffic flow. 3. The method of claim 2 , wherein inspecting the one or more Internet data packets of the first Internet data traffic flow comprises extracting a uniform resource locator (URL) identifier, a referring tag, or a referring header. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein determining that the first service activity is associated with the first Internet data traffic flow comprises detecting a proximity in time between the first Internet data traffic flow and other traffic identified as being associated with the first service activity. 5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: applying a first traffic control to the first Internet data traffic flow in accordance with a traffic control service policy associated with first service activity. 6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: providing, a notification through a user interface of the mobile end-user device, indicating whether one or more of the plurality of Internet data traffic flows is associated with at least one of the first service activity or the second service activity. 7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: blocking the first Internet data traffic flow based on association with the first service activity. 8. The method of claim 7 , further comprising: providing, a notification through a user interface of the mobile end-user device, indicating that the first Internet data traffic flow was blocked. 9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first service activity is associated with a first application on the mobile end-user device, and the second service activity is associated with a second application on the mobile end-user device. 10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first service activity is associated with an address or a uniform resource locator (URL) with which the mobile end-user device is communicating. 11. A mobile end-user device comprising: one or more processors configured to: determine a first service activity associated with a first Internet data traffic flow of a plurality of Internet data traffic flows communicated between the mobile end-user device and a mobile access network; in response to determining the first service activity, allocate first data usage by the first Internet data traffic flow to the first service activity; determine a second service activity associated with a second Internet data traffic flow of the plurality of Internet data traffic flows communicated between the mobile end-user device and the mobile access network; in response to determining the second service activity, allocate second data usage by the second Internet data traffic flow to the second service activity; generate a first data usage record including the first data usage identified with the first service activity, and a second data usage record including the second data usage identified with the second service activity; and send the first data usage record and the second data usage record to a network element. 12. The mobile end-user device of claim 11 , wherein determining that the first service activity is associated with the first Internet data traffic flow comprises inspecting one or more Internet data packets of the first Internet data traffic flow. 13. The mobile end-user device of claim 12 , wherein inspecting the one or more Internet data packets of the first Internet data traffic flow comprises extracting a uniform resource locator (URL) identifier, a referring tag, or a referring header. 14. The mobile end-user device of claim 11 , wherein determining that the first service activity is associated with the first Internet data traffic flow comprises detecting a proximity in time between the first Internet data traffic flow and other traffic identified as being associated with the first service activity. 15. The mobile end-user device of claim 11 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to: apply a first traffic control to the first Internet data traffic flow in accordance with a traffic control service policy associated with first service activity. 16. The mobile end-user device of claim 11 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to: provide, a notification through a user interface of the mobile end-user device, indicating whether one or more of the plurality of Internet data traffic flows is associated with at least one of the first service activity or the second service activity. 17. The mobile end-user device of claim 11 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to: block the first Internet data traffic flow based on association with the first service activity. 18. The mobile end-user device of claim 17 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to: provide, a notification through a user interface of the mobile end-user device, indicating that the first Internet data traffic flow was blocked. 19. The mobile end-user device of claim 11 , wherein the first service activity is associated with a first application on the mobile end-user device, and the second service activity is associated with a second application on the mobile end-user device. 20. The mobile end-user device of claim 11 , wherein the first service activity is associated with an address or a uniform resource locator (URL) with which the mobile end-user device is communicating.
