Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A non-contact power reception apparatus is provided, in which a power reception coil for a charging system and a loop antenna for an electronic settlement system are mounted on a battery pack and a cover case of a portable terminal such that the power reception coil is arranged in the center thereof and the loop antenna is disposed outside the power reception coil, so that a mode of receiving a wireless power signal and a mode of transmitting and receiving data are selectively performed, thereby preventing interference from harmonic components and enabling non-contact charging and electronic settlement using a single portable terminal. A jig for fabricating a core to be mounted to the non-contact power reception apparatus is provided.

The invention claimed is: 1. An apparatus of a non-contact charging system, the apparatus comprising: a battery; a wireless power transfer coil configured to receive a wireless power signal for charging the battery; and a communication antenna, wherein the wireless power transfer coil and the communication antenna are arranged in a plane at a first side of the battery in the apparatus, wherein the wireless power transfer coil and the communication antenna are configured to use different respective frequency bands and are capable of being operated at a same time. 2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the wireless power transfer coil is arranged within a center of a loop formed by the communication antenna. 3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the wireless power transfer coil is positioned in a center area of the apparatus at the first side of the battery, and wherein the communication antenna forms a loop type structure outside the wireless power transfer coil. 4. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the wireless power transfer coil includes a first wire that coils around a winding diameter, and wherein the communication antenna includes a second wire that loops outside the first wire. 5. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising: a case, wherein the wireless power transfer coil and the communication antenna are positioned substantially at one side of the case. 6. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the wireless power transfer coil and the communication antenna are formed as a double-structure core and have a substantially circular arrangement. 7. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the communication antenna is capable of transmitting or receiving a wireless data signal. 8. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the wireless data signal includes information related to an electronic payment. 9. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising: shielding material to protect electrical circuit elements in the apparatus from electromagnetic waves, wherein the shielding material is disposed between at least the wireless power transfer coil and the electrical circuit elements of the apparatus. 10. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the wireless power transfer coil and the communication antenna are positioned on different pieces of the shielding material. 11. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein different pieces of the shielding material provide spatial decoupling of the wireless power transfer coil and the communication antenna on the same plane to minimize an overall height of the wireless power transfer coil and the communication antenna in the apparatus. 12. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising: shielding material disposed between the wireless power transfer coil and at least one other electrical circuit component of the apparatus; and an absorber disposed between the communication antenna and the at least one other electrical circuit component. 13. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the wireless power transfer coil has a circular shape and the communication antenna has a substantially rectangular shape. 14. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the wireless power transfer coil and the communication antenna are arranged in a common module of the apparatus. 15. An apparatus of a non-contact charging system, comprising: one or more electrical circuits of a portable terminal; a battery; a wireless power transfer coil; a communication antenna, wherein the wireless power transfer coil and the communication antenna are arranged in a plane at a first side of the battery, wherein the wireless power transfer coil and the communication antenna are configured to use different respective frequency bands and are capable of being operated at a same time; shielding material disposed between the wireless power transfer coil and the one or more electrical circuits; and an absorber disposed between the communication antenna and the one or more electrical circuits. 16. The apparatus of claim 15 , further comprising: a case configured to house at least the battery, the wireless power transfer coil, and the communication antenna, wherein the wireless power transfer coil and the communication antenna are arranged within the case at the first side of the battery. 17. The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the wireless power transfer coil includes a first wire that coils around a winding diameter, and wherein the communication antenna includes a second wire that loops outside the first wire, and wherein the wireless power transfer coil and the communication antenna are formed as a double-structure core and have a substantially circular arrangement. 18. The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the wireless power transfer coil is positioned in a center area of the apparatus at the first side of the battery, and wherein the communication antenna forms a loop type structure outside the wireless power transfer coil. 19. The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the shielding material and the absorber provide spatial decoupling of the wireless power transfer coil and the communication antenna positioned substantially in the same plane.
