Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for determining shared resources associated with one or more user equipments (UEs) for sidelink communications, including control resources and data resources. A first UE may transmit a sidelink request to reserve a subset of data resources to a second UE, and may monitor for one or more sidelink responses indicating a positive sidelink response to the sidelink request, a negative sidelink response to the sidelink request, or both. The second UE may transmit a positive sidelink response if it is available for a data transmission. A third UE may transmit a negative sidelink response if it objects to the data transmission. The first UE may determine, based on monitoring for the one or more sidelink responses, whether to transmit a sidelink confirmation indicating a reservation of the subset of the data resources to the second UE.

What is claimed is: 1. A first user equipment (UE), comprising: a processing system that includes processor circuitry and memory circuitry that stores code, the processing system configured to cause the first UE to: receive, from a network entity, an indication of shared resources allocated by the network entity for sidelink communications among UEs, the shared resources including shared control resources and shared data resources; monitor, on a first receive beam over first control resources, of the shared control resources, in a first portion of a first slot, for a sidelink request from another UE to reserve a subset of data resources of the shared data resources; receive, on the first receive beam in accordance with the monitoring, a first sidelink request from a second UE in the first control resources in the first portion of the first slot, the first sidelink request being to reserve first data resources, of the shared data resources, and the first sidelink request indicating that the first UE is a target UE of the first sidelink request; and transmit a positive sidelink response, or refrain from transmitting a negative sidelink response, to the second UE on a first transmission beam over second control resources, of the shared control resources, in a second portion of the first slot in accordance with the first UE being the target UE and one or more of the first UE being available to receive a transmission over the first data resources from the second UE, the first UE not objecting to receiving the transmission over the first data resources from the second UE, or the first data resources being available for the transmission from the second UE to the first UE; or transmit a negative sidelink response, or refrain from transmitting a positive sidelink response, to the second UE on the first transmission beam over the second control resources in the second portion of the first slot in accordance with one or more of the first UE not being available to receive the transmission over the first data resources from the second UE, the first UE objecting to receiving the transmission over the first data resources from the second UE, or the first data resources not being available for the transmission from the second UE to the first UE. 2. The first UE of claim 1 , wherein the processing system is further configured to cause the first UE to: receive, on a second receive beam over fourth control resources, of the shared control resources, in a first portion of a second slot, a second sidelink request from a third UE to reserve the first data resources; and determine, in accordance with receiving the second sidelink request on the second receive beam, a level of interference between a potential transmission from the third UE received via the second receive beam and a potential transmission from the second UE received via the first receive beam. 3. The first UE of claim 2 , wherein the transmitting of the positive sidelink response is in accordance with the level of interference between the potential transmission from the third UE received via the second receive beam and the potential transmission from the second UE received via the first receive beam being less than a threshold. 4. The first UE of claim 2 , wherein the processing system is further configured to cause the first UE to transmit, in accordance with the level of interference between the potential transmission from the third UE received via the second receive beam and the potential transmission from the second UE received via the first receive beam being greater than a threshold, a negative sidelink response to the third UE on a second transmission beam over fifth control resources, of the shared control resources, in a second portion of the second slot. 5. The first UE of claim 1 , wherein the processing system is further configured to cause the first UE to: receive, on the first receive beam over fourth control resources, of the shared control resources, in a first portion of a second slot, a second sidelink request from a third UE to reserve the first data resources; transmit, to the third UE on the first transmission beam over fifth control resources, of the shared control resources, in a second portion of the second slot, a second positive sidelink response; receive, from the third UE in accordance with the second positive sidelink response, a first sidelink confirmation indicating a reservation of the first data resources over sixth control resources, of the shared control resources, in a third portion of the second slot; transmit the negative sidelink response, or refrain from transmitting the positive sidelink response, to the second UE on the first transmission beam over the second control resources in the second portion of the first slot in accordance with the first UE not being available to receive the transmission over the first data resources from the second UE. 6. The first UE of claim 5 , wherein the processing system is further configured to cause the first UE to: monitor, on the first receive beam over third control resources, of the shared control resources, in a third portion of the first slot, for a second sidelink confirmation from the second UE; and receive, in accordance with not receiving the second sidelink confirmation, a data transmission from the third UE over the first data resources. 7. The first UE of claim 1 , wherein the processing system is further configured to cause the first UE to: receive a first sidelink confirmation indicating a reservation of the first data resources, the first sidelink confirmation being transmitted from a third UE to a fourth UE over sixth control resources, of the shared control resources, in a third portion of a second slot; determine, in accordance with receiving the first sidelink confirmation, that the first data resources are not available for a data transmission to the first UE using the first receive beam; and transmit the negative sidelink response, or refrain from transmitting the positive sidelink response, to the second UE on the first transmission beam over the second control resources in the second portion of the first slot in accordance with the first data resources not being available for a transmission from the second UE to the first UE. 8. The first UE of claim 1 , wherein the indication of the shared resources indicates that control resources in a first portion of each slot of one or more slots including the first slot, are allocated for sending sidelink requests. 9. The first UE of claim 8 , wherein the indication of the shared resources indicates that one or more slots in the shared control resources are allocated to a set of UEs for reserving the shared data resources, wherein the set of UEs comprises the second UE and the first UE. 10. The first UE of claim 8 , wherein the processing system is further configured to cause the first UE to compare a UE identifier of the first UE to one or more UE identifiers of a set of UEs comprising the second UE and the first UE, wherein determining that the control resources in the first portion of each of the one or more slots are allocated for sending sidelink requests is in accordance with the comparing. 11. The first UE of claim 8 , wherein the processing system is further configured to cause the first UE to determine a rotating schedule for slot allocation, wherein determining that the control resources in the first portion of each of the one or more slots are allocated for sending sidelink requests is in accordance with the rotating schedule. 12.
