What is claimed: 1. An electronic cigarette, comprising: a body portion, the body portion including a body proximal end and a body distal end, wherein the body portion includes an air inlet; a mouth piece connected to the body proximal end; an atomizer disposed in the body portion; a backflow mitigation valve disposed in the body portion between the atomizer and the air inlet, wherein the backflow mitigation valve is closed in a naturally biased state, wherein the backflow mitigation valve remains in a closed state respective of an orientation of the electronic cigarette; and a porous material disposed between the backflow mitigation valve and the air inlet. 2. The electronic cigarette of claim 1 , wherein the backflow mitigation valve is disposed in the body distal end. 3. The electronic cigarette of claim 1 , further comprising a battery portion connected to the body distal end. 4. The electronic cigarette of claim 3 , wherein the backflow mitigation valve is disposed in the battery portion. 5. The electronic cigarette of claim 3 , wherein: the battery portion includes a battery connector; the battery connector is connected to the body distal end; and the backflow mitigation valve is disposed in the battery connector. 6. The electronic cigarette of claim 1 , wherein the backflow mitigation valve is a duckbill valve. 7. The electronic cigarette of claim 1 , wherein the backflow mitigation valve is a reed valve. 8. The electronic cigarette of claim 7 , wherein the reed valve includes a double read valve. 9. The electronic cigarette of claim 1 , wherein the backflow mitigation valve includes an umbrella valve. 10. The electronic cigarette of claim 1 , wherein the backflow mitigation valve includes a spring ball valve. 11. The electronic cigarette of claim 1 , wherein the porous material includes hydrophobic properties. 12. The electronic cigarette of claim 1 , wherein the porous material includes oleophobic properties. 13. An electronic cigarette, comprising: a body portion, the body portion including a body proximal end and a body distal end, wherein the body portion includes an air inlet; a mouth piece connected to the body proximal end; an atomizer disposed in the body portion; a battery portion connected to the body distal end via a battery connector; a backflow mitigation valve disposed in the battery connector, between the atomizer and the air inlet, wherein the backflow mitigation valve is a double duckbill valve, and wherein the double duckbill valve includes a pair of duckbill valves disposed orthogonal with respect to one another; and a porous material disposed between the backflow mitigation valve and the air inlet configured to prevent moisture from traveling towards the air inlet. 14. The electronic cigarette of claim 13 , wherein the backflow mitigation valve is configured to allow air to enter the air inlet and prevent air from exiting the air inlet. 15. The electronic cigarette of claim 13 , wherein the backflow mitigation valve is configured to prevent fluid from exiting the backflow mitigation valve. 16. An electronic cigarette, comprising: a body portion, the body portion including a body proximal end and a body distal end, wherein the body portion includes an air inlet; a mouth piece connected to the body proximal end; an atomizer disposed in the body portion; a battery portion connected to the body distal end via a battery connector; a backflow mitigation valve disposed in the battery connector between the atomizer and the air inlet, wherein the backflow mitigation valve is formed from a flexible material, and wherein the backflow mitigation valve is closed in a naturally biased state, wherein the backflow mitigation valve remains in a closed state respective of an orientation of the electronic cigarette; and a porous material disposed between the backflow mitigation valve and the air inlet, wherein the porous material is an absorbent material. 17. The electronic cigarette of claim 16 , wherein the backflow mitigation valve is formed from a material that includes rubber.
