Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Systems and methods are provided for customizing an auditory prosthesis or other medical device. Customizing the auditory prosthesis includes obtaining and evaluating system data. The system data includes data from multiple sensors, including one or more sensors of an auditory prosthesis and one or more sensors of a recipient computing device. Based on the evaluation of the system data, a target behavior is determined, such as operating the auditory prosthesis in a particular sonic environment or with particular auditory prosthesis settings.

The invention claimed is: 1. A system, comprising: memory; and one or more processors configured to: obtain sensor data associated with a medical device, wherein the medical device is worn by, or at least partially implanted in, a recipient; provide an inquiry to a recipient computing device of the recipient based on the sensor data; obtain inquiry response data from the recipient computing device, the inquiry response data submitted in response to the inquiry; determine a target behavior for the recipient based on the inquiry response data; and determine an incentive for the target behavior. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the sensor data comprises an environment of operation of the medical device. 3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to: determine the inquiry; determine a change in the environment of operation of the medical device based on the sensor data; and provide the inquiry to the recipient computing device in response to determining the change in the environment of operation of the medical device to provide the inquiry to the recipient computing device based on the sensor data. 4. The system of claim 3 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to: determine the inquiry based on system data of the medical device. 5. The system of claim 2 , wherein the environment is of a plurality of environments, each environment of the plurality of environments is associated with a respective inquiry, and the one or more processors are configured to: select the respective inquiry associated with the environment; and provide the respective inquiry to the recipient computing device to provide the inquiry to the recipient computing device based on the sensor data. 6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to: determine the sensor data is above a threshold; and provide the inquiry to the recipient computing device based on the sensor data being above the threshold. 7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to: determine the inquiry based on at least one of a previous target behavior or a previous incentive. 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to: obtain the sensor data from a sensor of the recipient computing device. 9. A method comprising: obtaining first sensor data associated with medical device that is at least one of worn by or at least partially implanted in a recipient; obtaining second sensor data associated with a recipient computing device used by the recipient, the recipient computing device operating in conjunction with the medical device; determining a target behavior based on the first sensor data and the second sensor data; and determining an incentive for the target behavior. 10. The method of claim 9 , comprising: determining an inquiry based on the first sensor data and the second sensor data; causing the recipient computing device to provide the inquiry to the recipient; obtaining inquiry response data from the recipient computing device; and determining the target behavior based on the inquiry response data to determine the target behavior based on the first sensor data and the second sensor data. 11. The method of claim 9 , further comprising: obtaining clinician feedback from a clinician computing device used by a clinician; and determining the target behavior further based on the clinician feedback. 12. The method of claim 9 , wherein the incentive comprises a modification to the recipient computing device. 13. One or more non-transitory computer readable media comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising: obtaining sensor data associated with a medical device, wherein the medical device is worn by, or at least partially implanted in, a recipient; determining a target behavior for the recipient based on the sensor data; determining an incentive to be fulfilled upon satisfaction of the target behavior; determining absence of the target behavior being satisfied; and changing the incentive in response to determining the absence of the target behavior being satisfied. 14. The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising: determining a threshold duration of time has elapsed without the target behavior being satisfied; and determining the absence of the target behavior being satisfied in response to determining the threshold duration of time has elapsed without the target behavior being satisfied. 15. The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising: determining that the target behavior is satisfied; and fulfilling the incentive in response to determining the target behavior is satisfied. 16. The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising: determining that the target behavior is not satisfied; and changing the incentive by at least one of changing a reward related to the incentive or reducing a threshold to satisfy the target behavior that would cause the incentive to be fulfilled. 17. The one or more non-transitory computer readable media of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations further comprising: changing the target behavior in response to determining the absence of the target behavior being satisfied. 18. A system, comprising: memory; and one or more processors configured to: obtain sensor data associated with a medical device, wherein the medical device is worn by, or at least partially implanted in, a recipient; provide an inquiry to the recipient based on the sensor data and at least one of a previous target behavior or a previous incentive; obtain inquiry response data submitted in response to the inquiry; determine a target behavior for the recipient based on the inquiry response data; and determine an incentive for the target behavior. 19. The system of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to: determine the sensor data is above a threshold; and provide the inquiry to the recipient based on the sensor data being above the threshold. 20. The system of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to: obtain the sensor data from a sensor of a recipient computing device of the recipient.
