The invention claimed is: 1. A roof window comprising a frame, a sash, and a pane, in which the frame comprises a set of frame members including a top frame member, two side frame members and a bottom frame member and the sash comprises a set of sash members including a top sash member, two side sash members and a bottom sash member, wherein the frame comprises at least one releasable component that upon removal allows replacement of one or more first components of the roof window with a second set of components which when installed change a functionality of the roof window having the one or more first components, wherein said at least one releasable component comprises a cover releasably connected to one or more components of the bottom frame member and defining a cavity relative to the one or more components of the bottom frame member, and wherein edge portions of the cover are received in receiving grooves in the bottom frame member. 2. The roof window according to claim 1 , wherein the bottom frame member comprises an outer piece and a separate inner piece. 3. The roof window according to claim 2 , wherein the receiving grooves in the bottom frame member include one receiving groove in the outer piece and one receiving groove in the separate inner piece. 4. The roof window according to claim 3 , wherein an insulating piece is accommodated in the cavity defined by the cover. 5. The roof window according to claim 4 , wherein the cavity defined by the cover is configured to receive an electrical operator and the cover is configured to be replaced by a different cover allowing operating means of the electrical operator to be connected to the sash. 6. The roof window according to claim 4 , wherein the bottom sash member is provided with a sash fitting configured to be selectively connected to an electrical operator and components of a manual operating assembly. 7. The roof window according to claim 4 , wherein the top frame member and/or the side frame members are provided with a receiving structure comprising a hinge assembly receiving milling, and wherein a blind plate covers at least one of said hinge assembly receiving millings to allow replacement of a part of a hinge assembly. 8. The roof window according to claim 3 , wherein the cavity defined by the cover is configured to receive an electrical operator and the cover is configured to be replaced by a different cover allowing operating means of the electrical operator to be connected to the sash. 9. The roof window according to claim 3 , wherein the bottom sash member is provided with a sash fitting configured to be selectively connected to an electrical operator and components of a manual operating assembly. 10. The roof window according to claim 3 , wherein the top frame member and/or the side frame members are provided with a receiving structure comprising a hinge assembly receiving milling, and wherein a blind plate covers at least one of said hinge assembly receiving millings to allow replacement of a part of a hinge assembly. 11. The roof window according to claim 2 , wherein the cavity defined by the cover is configured to receive an electrical operator and the cover is configured to be replaced by a different cover allowing operating means of the electrical operator to be connected to the sash. 12. The roof window according to claim 11 , wherein the bottom sash member is provided with a sash fitting configured to be selectively connected to an electrical operator and components of a manual operating assembly. 13. The roof window according to claim 11 , wherein the top frame member and/or the side frame members are provided with a receiving structure comprising a hinge assembly receiving milling, and wherein a blind plate covers at least one of said hinge assembly receiving millings to allow replacement of a part of a hinge assembly. 14. The roof window according to claim 2 , wherein the bottom sash member is provided with a sash fitting configured to be selectively connected to an electrical operator and components of a manual operating assembly. 15. The roof window according to claim 2 , wherein the top frame member and/or the side frame members are provided with a receiving structure comprising a hinge assembly receiving milling, and wherein a blind plate covers at least one of said hinge assembly receiving millings to allow replacement of a part of a hinge assembly. 16. The roof window according to claim 1 , wherein the bottom sash member is provided with a sash fitting configured to be selectively connected to an electrical operator and components of a manual operating assembly. 17. The roof window according to claim 16 , wherein the bottom frame member comprises a dummy element configured to be replaced by a socket fitting forming part of the manual operating assembly with a spindle part with an end portion connectable to the sash fitting. 18. The roof window according to claim 17 , wherein the top frame member and/or the side frame members are provided with a receiving structure comprising a hinge assembly receiving milling, and wherein a blind plate covers at least one of said hinge assembly receiving millings to allow replacement of a part of a hinge assembly. 19. The roof window according to claim 16 , wherein the top frame member and/or the side frame members are provided with a receiving structure comprising a hinge assembly receiving milling, and wherein a blind plate covers at least one of said hinge assembly receiving millings to allow replacement of a part of a hinge assembly. 20. The roof window according to claim 1 , wherein the top frame member and/or the side frame members are provided with a receiving structure comprising a hinge assembly receiving milling, and wherein a blind plate covers at least one of said hinge assembly receiving millings to allow replacement of a part of a hinge assembly. 21. The roof window according to claim 1 , wherein the receiving grooves include a first receiving groove and a second receiving groove, the first receiving groove is offset in a vertical direction from the second receiving groove.
