An improved drain for an above-ground pool is disclosed. A variety of above-ground pool types are considered. Above-ground pools must be drained after use before being stored in a lengthy and time-consuming process. The improved drain can advantageously remain open during the draining process allowing for improved drainage. The drain can comprise a plug member and a locking member. The plug member can be configured to attach to the locking member when open. This and other embodiments are disclosed herein.

What is claimed is: 1. A method for assembling a drainage assembly, the method comprising: providing a drain hole; providing a locking member; providing a drain plug member; connecting the drain plug member to the drain hole through at least one attaching member; and configuring the drain plug member to rotatably attach to the locking member. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein providing the drain hole and the drain plug member further comprises connecting the drain plug member to the drain hole through an attaching member comprising the same material as the drain hole. 3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising welding the attaching member to the same surface as the drain. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the locking member comprises hard or soft plastic.
