Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

It provides a reinforcing bar binding machine capable of surely wrapping and binding a wire to a binding object. The reinforcing bar binding machine includes a magazine in which two wires are housed so as to be drawable, a curl guide unit which winds the arranged wires around the reinforcing bar, by the operation of feeding the parallel wires at the curl guide unit to wind around the reinforcing bar, a wire feeding unit which to wrap around the reinforcing bar with the wires wound around the reinforcing bar, and a binding unit which twists a intersecting portion between one end side and the other end side of the wire wound around the reinforcing bar.

First claim

The invention claimed is: 1. A reel for use in a reinforcing bar binding machine, the reel comprising: a core portion on which a wire is wound; flange portions provided on both sides of the core portion; and two or more wires wound around the core portion so as to be arranged in parallel in a direction along an axial direction of the core portion in a drawable manner, wherein the two or more wires include a joint part where portions of the two or more wires are joined to each other at a joint part such that the two or more wires are fixed relative to one another, and a non-joint part where portions of the two or more wires adjacent to one another are movable relative to one another. 2. The reel according to claim 1 , wherein tip portions of the two or more wires are twisted to be joined to each other at the joint part, and wherein the two or more wires are wound around the core portion such that the two or more wires are fed out without being twisted. 3. The reel according to claim 2 , wherein the two or more wires twisted together at the joint part are crushed such that the joint part has a length in a longitudinal direction substantially equal to a sum of the diameters of the two or more wires, and a length in a lateral direction substantially equal to the diameter of one of the two or more wires. 4. The reel according to claim 1 , wherein the joint part has a length in a longitudinal direction that is substantially equal to a sum of the diameters of the two or more wires, and a length in a lateral direction that is substantially equal to the diameter of one of the two or more wires. 5. The reel according to claim 1 , wherein each of the two or more wires has a cross section at the joint part different from a cross section of each of the two or more wires at the non-joint part. 6. A reel for use in a reinforcing bar binding machine, the reel comprising: a core portion on which a wire is wound; flange portions provided on both sides of the core portion; and two or more wires wound around the core portion so as to be arranged in parallel in a direction along an axial direction of the core portion in a drawable manner, wherein portions of the two or more wires are joined to each other at a joint part such that the two or more wires are fixed relative to one another, and wherein at least parts of other portions of the two or more wires separate from the joint part are not joined to each other. 7. The reel according to claim 6 , wherein tip portions of the two or more wires are twisted to be joined to each other at the joint part, and wherein the two or more wires are wound around the core portion such that the two or more wires are fed out without being twisted. 8. The reel according to claim 7 , wherein the two or more wires twisted together at the joint part are crushed such that the joint part has a length in a longitudinal direction substantially equal to a sum of the diameters of the two or more wires, and a length in a lateral direction substantially equal to the diameter of one of the two or more wires. 9. The reel according to claim 6 , wherein the joint part has a length in a longitudinal direction that is substantially equal to a sum of the diameters of the two or more wires, and a length in a lateral direction that is substantially equal to the diameter of one of the two or more wires. 10. The reel according to claim 6 , wherein each of the two or more wires has a cross section at the joint part different from a cross section of each of the two or more wires at a portion other than the joint part.
