What is claimed is: 1. An obstruction removal device, comprising: a pusher comprising a pusher lumen extending between a distal portion of the pusher and a proximal portion of the pusher; at least one engaging member, wherein the at least one engaging member is connected at the distal portion of the pusher; and an elongated element positioned in the pusher lumen, where, in a first configuration, the elongated element is at a first location and the at least one engaging member is in a radially-collapsed shape, and where, in a second configuration, the elongated element is at a second location different from the first location and the at least one engaging member is in a radially-expanded shape. 2. The obstruction removal device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one engaging member comprises a plurality of struts which define a number of openings. 3. The obstruction removal device of claim 2 , further comprising: at least one holding member comprising a passage and a plurality of slots, wherein the elongated element is positioned within the passage, wherein the plurality of struts engage the plurality of slots. 4. The obstruction removal device of claim 1 , wherein the elongated element extends from the pusher to a distal-most engaging member of the at least one engaging member. 5. The obstruction removal device of claim 4 , wherein a second proximal portion of the elongated element extends past the proximal portion of the pusher, wherein the second proximal portion of the elongated element is configured to be pulled or pushed by a user. 6. The obstruction removal device of claim 4 , further comprising: a distal cap connected to a distal end of the elongated element, wherein the distal cap has a diameter larger than a distal aperture of the distal-most engaging member of the at least one engaging member. 7. The obstruction removal device of claim 6 , wherein the elongated element comprises at least one enlargement, wherein the pusher comprises a channel, where, in the second configuration, the at least one enlargement is in the channel, and where, in the first configuration, the at least one enlargement is not in the channel. 8. The obstruction removal device of claim 1 , further comprising a locking mechanism configured to selectively prevent the elongated element from moving relative to the pusher to lock the at least one engaging member in the second configuration or the first configuration. 9. The obstruction removal device of claim 8 , wherein the locking mechanism comprises a fixture fixed to the elongated element. 10. The obstruction removal device of claim 1 , wherein the elongated element spans both the pusher and the at least one engaging member. 11. The obstruction removal device of claim 1 , further comprising: a collet located near the proximal portion of the pusher configured to be selectively engageable with the elongated element to prevent movement of the elongated element relative to the pusher. 12. The obstruction removal device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one engaging member comprises a plurality of engaging members. 13. The obstruction removal device of claim 12 , where, in the first configuration, each of the plurality of engaging members is in the radially-collapsed shape, and where, in the second configuration, each of the plurality of engaging members is in the radially-expanded shape. 14. The obstruction removal device of claim 12 , wherein each of the plurality of engaging members comprises a plurality of struts which define a number of openings. 15. The obstruction removal device of claim 1 , wherein the elongated element is longitudinally moveable relative to the pusher to move the obstruction removal device between the first configuration and the second configuration. 16. The obstruction removal device of claim 1 , where, in the first configuration, a portion of the elongated element is at a third location within the pusher lumen, and where, in the second configuration, the portion of the elongated element is at a fourth location within the pusher lumen. 17. The obstruction removal device of claim 1 , wherein the elongated element comprises a wire. 18. The obstruction removal device of claim 1 , further comprising: at least one radiopaque element connected to the at least one engaging member. 19. An obstruction removal device, comprising: a pusher comprising a pusher lumen extending between a distal portion of the pusher and a proximal portion of the pusher; a plurality of engaging members, wherein each of the plurality of engaging members is connected at the distal portion of the pusher; and an elongated element positioned in the pusher lumen, wherein the elongated element is longitudinally moveable relative to the pusher to cause at least one of the plurality of engaging members to adopt an expanded shape or a collapsed shape. 20. An obstruction removal device, comprising: a pusher comprising a pusher lumen extending between a distal portion of the pusher and a proximal portion of the pusher; and engaging means for expanding or collapsing at least one engaging member, wherein the at least one engaging member is connected at the distal portion of the pusher, wherein the engaging means comprises an elongated element positioned in the pusher lumen.
