A solid electrolyte according to the present disclosure has a composition represented by Mg x Zr y (PO z ) 2 (0<x≤3.5, 0≤y<1.5, and 3≤z≤4.25), and includes an amorphous part. The composition may be represented by Mg x (PO z ) 2 (3≤x≤3.5 and 3≤z≤4.25). The composition may be represented by Mg x Zr y (PO z ) 2 (0<x<3.5, 0<y<1.5, and 3≤z≤4.25).

What is claimed is: 1. An electrode material of a magnesium secondary battery, the electrode material comprising: an electrode active material particle of the magnesium secondary battery; and a surface layer covering the electrode active material particle, wherein the surface layer includes a covering material, and the covering material includes a solid electrolyte having a composition represented by Mg x (PO z ) 2 , where 3.1≤x≤3.5 and 3≤z≤4.25, and comprising an amorphous part. 2. The electrode material of the magnesium secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the electrode active material particle is a positive electrode active material particle. 3. The electrode material of the magnesium secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the electrode active material particle is a negative electrode active material particle. 4. An electrode layer of a magnesium secondary battery, the electrode layer comprising the electrode material according to claim 1 . 5. An electrode layer of a magnesium secondary battery, the electrode layer comprising: an electrode active material layer including electrode active material particles of the magnesium secondary battery; and a surface layer that is disposed on one principal surface of the electrode active material layer and includes a covering material covering an electrode active material of the magnesium secondary battery, wherein the covering material includes a solid electrolyte having a composition represented by Mg x (PO z ) 2 , where 3.1≤x≤3.5 and 3≤z≤4.25, and comprising an amorphous part. 6. The electrode layer of the magnesium secondary battery according to claim 5 , wherein the electrode active material particles are positive electrode active material particles. 7. The electrode layer of the magnesium secondary battery according to claim 5 , wherein the electrode active material particles are negative electrode active material particles. 8. An electrode of a magnesium secondary battery, the electrode comprising: the electrode layer according to claim 4 ; and a current collector supporting the electrode layer and being in electrical contact with the electrode layer. 9. A magnesium secondary battery comprising: the electrode according to claim 8 ; and an electrolyte solution containing a nonaqueous solvent and a magnesium salt dissolved in the nonaqueous solvent. 10. The electrode material of the magnesium secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein 4<z≤4.25.
