A refrigerator comprising: a first tray configured to form a first portion of a cell; a second tray configured to form a second portion of the cell, the first and second portions configured to form a space in which a liquid is phase-changed to ice; a heater configured to supply heat to the first tray; a temperature sensor provided in at least one of the first tray or the second tray; a discharge spark generator configured to generate a spark via an electrode; and a controller configured to: determine, based on a temperature sensed by the temperature sensor, whether liquid in the space of the cell is being supercooled; and control the discharge spark generator to generate the spark when it is determined that the liquid in the cell is supercooled, wherein the controller determines that the liquid is supercooled when: after the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor reaches a first predetermined temperature, a time period for the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor to reach a second predetermined temperature lower than the first predetermined temperature is shorter than a predetermined time period, wherein the first tray includes a wall to define an auxiliary channel communicating the space with an outside of the space, wherein a lowermost end of the electrode is positioned higher than an uppermost of the heater in a state in which the electrode is inserted into the auxiliary channel. 2. The refrigerator of claim 1 , wherein the heater is provided adjacent to the first tray and configured to supply the heat into the cell in an ice separation process. 3. The refrigerator of claim 1 , wherein the first predetermined temperature is 0 degrees Celsius or less. 4. The refrigerator of claim 1 , wherein the second predetermined temperature is a temperature in a range of −3 degrees to the first predetermined temperature. 5. The refrigerator of claim 1 , wherein: the first tray includes an opening through which the liquid flows into the space of the cell, and wherein the wall extends from the opening, and the electrode is spaced apart from the opening and the liquid in the cell. 6. The refrigerator of claim 5 , wherein a position of the electrode is configured such that the spark is generated on a surface of the liquid in the space of the cell. 7. The refrigerator of claim 1 , wherein the electrode is spaced apart from an inner peripheral surface of the wall of the auxiliary channel. 8. A refrigerator, comprising: a storage chamber; a tray provided in the storage chamber and configured to form a cell having a space, the tray having a wall to define an auxiliary channel communicating with the space, wherein a liquid introduced in the space is phase-changed into ice; a temperature sensor provided in the tray; a heater configured to supply heat to the tray; a heater case provided with the heater; an electrode provided in the auxiliary channel, the electrode being configured to generate a spark based on a temperature sensed by the temperature sensor; and a controller configured to determine whether the liquid in the space is being supercooled based on the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor, wherein the controller determines that the liquid is supercooled when: after the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor reaches a first predetermined temperature, a time period for the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor to reach a second predetermined temperature lower than the first predetermined temperature is shorter than a predetermined time period, wherein the auxiliary channel defined by the wall passes through the heater case such that the space of the cell is communicated with an outside of the space by the auxiliary channel. 9. The refrigerator of claim 8 , wherein the electrode is spaced apart from an inner wall defining the auxiliary channel, or the heater is provided adjacent to the tray and configured to supply the heat into the cell in an ice separation process. 10.
