Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

In the case where a film, which has lower strength than a metal can, is used as an exterior body of a secondary battery, a current collector provided in a region surrounded by the exterior body, an active material layer provided on a surface of the current collector, or the like might be damaged when force is externally applied to the secondary battery. A secondary battery that is durable even when force is externally applied thereto is provided. A cushioning material is provided in a region surrounded by an exterior body of a secondary battery. Specifically, a cushioning material is provided on the periphery of a current collector such that a sealing portion of an exterior body (film) is located outside the cushioning material.

What is claimed is: 1. A secondary battery comprising: a first exterior body and a second exterior body; a first cushioning material and a second cushioning material between the first exterior body and the second exterior body; and a first current collector and a second current collector between the first cushioning material and the second cushioning material, wherein the first current collector is in contact with the first cushioning material, wherein the second current collector is in contact with the second cushioning material, wherein the first cushioning material and the second cushioning material each comprise a flexible material, wherein an area of the first cushioning material is larger than an area of the first current collector, wherein an area of the second cushioning material is larger than an area of the second current collector, and wherein the first exterior body and the second exterior body comprise a pattern including projections or depressions on a surface of the first exterior body and a surface of the second exterior body. 2. The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the entirety of the first current collector and the second current collector overlap with each of the first cushioning material and the second cushioning material. 3. The secondary battery according to claim 1 , further comprising: an active material layer; an electrolytic solution; and a separator, wherein the active material layer, the electrolytic solution, and the separator are between the first current collector and the second current collector. 4. The secondary battery according to claim 3 , wherein each of the first exterior body and the second exterior body is a film, wherein the first exterior body is in contact with one of the first cushioning material and the second cushioning material, and wherein the second exterior body is in contact with the other of the first cushioning material and the second cushioning material. 5. The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein each of the first and second cushioning materials are partly exposed at a side surface of the secondary battery. 6. The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the secondary battery comprises a curvature radius greater than or equal to 10 mm. 7. 8. The secondary battery according to claim 7 , further comprising, wherein the entirety of the first current collector and the second current collector overlap with each of the first cushioning material and the second cushioning material. 9. The secondary battery according to claim 7 , further comprising: an active material layer; an electrolytic solution; and a separator, wherein the active material layer, the electrolytic solution, and the separator are between the first current collector and the second current collector. 10. The secondary battery according to claim 9 , wherein each of the first exterior body and the second exterior body is a film, wherein the first exterior body is in contact with one of the first cushioning material and the second cushioning material, and wherein the second exterior body is in contact with the other of the first cushioning material and the second cushioning material. 11. The secondary battery according to claim 7 , wherein each of the first and second cushioning materials are partly exposed at a side surface of the secondary battery. 12. The secondary battery according to claim 7 , wherein the secondary battery comprises a curvature radius greater than or equal to 10 mm. 13. A secondary battery comprising: a first exterior body and a second exterior body; a first cushioning material and a second cushioning material between the first exterior body and the second exterior body; a first current collector and a second current collector between the first cushioning material and the second cushioning material; and a separator between the first current collector and the second current collector, wherein the first current collector is in contact with the first cushioning material, wherein the second current collector is in contact with the second cushioning material, wherein an area of the first cushioning material is larger than an area of the first current collector, wherein an area of the second cushioning material is larger than an area of the second current collector, wherein the first exterior body and the second exterior body comprise a pattern including projections or depressions on a surface of the first exterior body and a surface of the second exterior body, wherein the first cushioning material and the second cushioning material each comprise a flexible material, wherein the first cushioning material is an elastic body, and wherein an elasticity of the first cushioning material is higher than an elasticity of the separator. 14. The secondary battery according to claim 13 , further comprising, wherein the entirety of the first current collector and the second current collector overlap with each of the first cushioning material and the second cushioning material. 15. The secondary battery according to claim 13 , further comprising: an active material layer; and an electrolytic solution, wherein the active material layer, the electrolytic solution, and the separator are between the first current collector and the second current collector. 16. The secondary battery according to claim 15 , wherein each of the first exterior body and the second exterior body is a film, wherein the first exterior body is in contact with one of the first cushioning material and the second cushioning material, and wherein the second exterior body is in contact with the other of the first cushioning material and the second cushioning material. 17.
