A stainless steel sheet has a surface quality in which a core height Sk is 1.50 μm or less, a reduced peak height Spk is 0.20 μm or less, and an areal material ratio Smr2 that separates a reduced dale from a core is 80% or less, where the core height Sk, the reduced peak height Spk, and the areal material ratio Smr2 are as specified in JIS B 0681-2:2018. The stainless steel sheet has a whiteness of 50 or greater and an image clarity of 1% or greater.

The invention claimed is: 1. A stainless steel sheet comprising a surface quality in which a core height Sk is 1.50 μm or less, a reduced peak height Spk is 0.20 μm or less, and an areal material ratio Smr2 that separates a reduced dale from a core is 80% or less, where the core height Sk, the reduced peak height Spk, and the areal material ratio Smr2 are as specified in JIS B 0681-2:2018, wherein the stainless steel sheet has a whiteness of 50 or greater and an image clarity of 1% or greater. 2. A method for manufacturing the stainless steel sheet according to claim 1 , wherein the stainless steel sheet is an austenitic stainless steel sheet or a ferritic-austenitic duplex stainless steel sheet, the method comprising: a material steel sheet providing step including providing a cold-rolled annealed steel sheet that serves as a material; a roughening step including polishing the cold rolled annealed steel sheet to produce a cold-rolled, annealed, polished steel sheet; and a flattening step including subjecting the cold-rolled, annealed, polished steel sheet to skin-pass rolling to produce a cold-rolled, annealed, polished, skin-pass-finished steel sheet, wherein in the roughening step, the cold-rolled annealed steel sheet is subjected to a polishing treatment in which a surface roughness Sa of the cold-rolled annealed steel sheet is adjusted to be 0.20 μm or greater and 2.00 μm or less, and in the flattening step, the cold-rolled, annealed, polished steel sheet is subjected to skin-pass rolling that is performed at an elongation ratio of 0.10% or greater and 3.00% or less by using a skin-pass roll having a surface roughness Sa of 0.06 μm or less. 3. A method for manufacturing the stainless steel sheet according to claim 1 , wherein the stainless steel sheet is a ferritic stainless steel sheet or a martensitic stainless steel sheet, the method comprising: a material steel sheet providing step including providing a cold-rolled steel sheet that serves as a material; a roughening step including heat-treating the cold-rolled steel sheet to form a cold-rolled annealed steel sheet and then pickling the cold rolled annealed steel sheet to produce a cold-rolled, annealed, pickled steel sheet; and a flattening step including subjecting the cold-rolled, annealed, pickled steel sheet to skin-pass rolling to produce a cold-rolled, annealed, pickled, skin-pass-finished steel sheet, wherein in the roughening step, the cold-rolled steel sheet is subjected to a heat treatment in which the cold-rolled steel sheet is held in a temperature range of 750° C. or greater and 850° C. or less for 3 hours or more and 10 hours or less, to form a cold-rolled annealed steel sheet, and subsequently, the cold-rolled annealed steel sheet is subjected to pickling in which the cold-rolled annealed steel sheet is immersed in an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid having a concentration of 15 mass % or greater and 30 mass % or less and having a temperature of 75° C. or greater and 95° C. or less, for 30 seconds or more and 240 seconds or less and in the flattening step, the cold-rolled, annealed, pickled steel sheet is subjected to skin-pass rolling that is performed at an elongation ratio of 0.10% or greater and 3.00% or less by using a skin-pass roll having a surface roughness Sa of 0.06 μm or less.
