What is claimed is: 1. A glenoid implant, comprising: a plate having a first side, an opposed second side, a circular peripheral edge, and a central member extending from the first side of the plate, the first side of the plate sized and configured to be disposed against a glenoid of a patient when the glenoid implant is implanted, the plate defining a central opening and a plurality of receptacles located between the central member and the circular peripheral edge of the body, the central opening extending from the second side of the body to and through the central member, wherein: the central member includes a first portion and a second portion, the first portion of the central member is threaded and disposed between the second portion of the central member and the first side of the plate; the second portion of the central member is configured to allow bony tissue of the glenoid to colonize at least partially therein when the glenoid implant is implanted; the central opening is sized and configured to receive a first screw of a first type; and each receptacle of the plurality of receptacles is sized and configured to receive a respective second screw of a second type. 2. The glenoid implant of claim 1 , further comprising another component configured to be coupled to the plate, the another component including an articular surface. 3. The glenoid implant of claim 2 , further comprising the first screw of a first type, the first screw of the first type sized and configured to be received in the central opening. 4. The glenoid implant of claim 3 , further comprising at least one screw of a second type, the at least one screw of the second type sized and configured to be received in at least one of the plurality of receptacles. 5. The glenoid implant of claim 4 , wherein at least one receptacle of the plurality of receptacles is configured to receive the at least one screw of the second type in a plurality of orientations relative to a plane defined by the second surface of the plate. 6. The glenoid implant of claim 1 , wherein the second portion of the central member includes a plurality of holes sized and configured to allow bony tissue of the glenoid to colonize at least partially therein when the glenoid is implanted. 7. The glenoid implant of claim 1 , further comprising: the first screw of a first type, the first screw of the first type sized and configured to be received in the central opening; and at least one screw of a second type, the at least one screw of the second type sized and configured to be received in at least one of the plurality of receptacles. 8. A glenoid implant, comprising: a plate having a first side, a second side, a circular periphery extending between the first side and the second side, and a central member having a circular cross-sectional geometry, the central member extending from the first side of the plate and having a first portion that is threaded and a second portion, the first portion disposed between the first side of the plate and the second portion of the central member, the plate defining a central opening and a plurality of receptacles; a first screw of a first type sized and configured to be received in the central opening; and at least one second screw sized and configured to be received in at least one receptacle of the plurality of receptacles, wherein the second portion of the central member is configured to allow bony tissue of the glenoid to colonize at least partially therein when the glenoid implant is implanted within a glenoid. 9. The glenoid implant of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of receptacles are disposed between the central member and the circular periphery of the plate. 10. The glenoid implant of claim 9 , wherein the central opening extends from the second side of the plate to and through the central member. 11. The glenoid implant of claim 10 , further comprising another component sized and configured to be coupled to the plate, the another component including and articular surface. 12. The glenoid implant of claim 10 , wherein at least one receptacle of the plurality of receptacles is configured to receive the at least one screw of the second type in an orientation that is disposed at an angle relative to a plane defined by the second surface of the plate. 13. The glenoid implant of claim 8 , wherein the second portion of the central member includes a plurality of openings for allowing bony tissue of the glenoid to colonize at least partially therein when the glenoid implant is implanted within the glenoid. 14. A glenoid implant, comprising: a plate including: a first side configured to be disposed against a glenoid, a second side disposed opposite the first side of the plate, a periphery extending between the first side of the plate and the second side of the plate, and a member extending from the first side of the plate and terminating at an end, the member having a circular cross-sectional shape, a first portion that is threaded, and a second portion, the first portion of the member disposed between the second portion and the first side of the plate, and the second portion of the member including a plurality of openings sized and configured to allow bony tissue of the glenoid to colonize at least partially therein when the glenoid implant is implanted within the glenoid; a first screw of a first type sized and configured to be received in a central opening that extends through the member; and a plurality of screws of a second type, each screw of the second type of the plurality of screws of the second type configured to be received in a respective receptacle defined by the plate. 15. The glenoid implant of claim 14 , wherein each receptacle defined by the plate is located between the member and the periphery of the plate. 16. The glenoid implant of claim 15 , wherein each receptacle defined by the plate is configured to receive a respective screw of the second type at an angle relative to a plane defined by the second side of the plate. 17. The glenoid implant of claim 14 , wherein the second portion of the member tapers along its length such that a diameter of the second portion of the member adjacent to the first portion of the member is greater than a diameter at the end of the second portion of the member. 18. The glenoid implant of claim 14 , further comprising another component sized and configured to be coupled to the plate, the another component including an articular surface. 19. The glenoid implant of claim 14 , wherein the periphery of the plate is circular. 20. The glenoid implant of claim 19 , wherein the member extends from a center of the first side of the plate.
