The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method and an apparatus for providing a dual subscriber identity module (SIM) function even in a terminal with a single embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) mounted are provided. A method and an apparatus for installing, activating, and managing a plurality of profiles are provided, so that even a terminal with a single eUICC mounted may provide a dual SIM function in a communication system. The method includes the following embodiments to achieve the foregoing aspect, a method in which an eUICC receives a command involving a profile state change from a local profile assistant (LPA), registers a proactive command, and notifies a modem of logical interface information for obtaining the proactive command, a method in which the eUICC determines whether to perform polling on a specific logical interface by combining predetermined information, such as the logical interface information received from the mode, the state of a logical interface collected and possessed by the modem, and the number of an interface on which a corresponding message is received, a method in which the modem receives and processes the proactive command by performing polling on the logical interface, and a method in which the eUICC receives the result of processing the proactive command and completely changes the state of a profile connected to the logical interface. Further, a method in which the eUICC selectively configures a REFRESH message depending on whether the modem supports multiple enabled profiles (MEP) and divisively transmits the message to the modem when the eUICC receives a request for eUICC memory resetting or a profile state change in the terminal may be provided.

What is claimed is: 1. A method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising: receiving, from a universal integrated circuit card (UICC), a first message on a first, logical secure element (SE) interface (LSI), the first message including first information indicating that an operation related to at least one LSI is required and second information indicating the at least one LSI; transmitting, to the UICC, a fetch command on each LSI of the at least one LSI based on the first message, the fetch command being for acquiring a pending proactive command corresponding to the each LSI; receiving, from the UICC, each proactive command on the each LSI of the at least one LSI; and transmitting, to the UICC, a response to the each proactive command. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the transmitting of the fetch command comprises: transmitting, to the UICC, a status command on the each LSI of the at least one LSI; receiving, from the UICC, a second message on the each LSI, the second message indicating that a proactive command is pending on the each LSI; and transmitting, to the UICC, the fetch command on the each LSI. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second information corresponds to LSI numbers indicating the at least one LSI. 4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first information is included in a command details field of the first message, and wherein the response is transmitted on the each LSI. 5. A method performed by a universal integrated circuit card (UICC) of a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising: transmitting, to the terminal, a first message on a first logical secure element (SE) interface (LSI), the first message including first information indicating that an operation related to at least one LSI is required and second information indicating the at least one LSI; receiving, from the terminal, a fetch command on each LSI of the at least one LSI based on the first message, the fetch command being for acquiring a pending proactive command corresponding to the each LSI; transmitting, to the terminal each proactive command on the each LSI of the at least one LSI; and receiving, from the terminal, a response to the each proactive command. 6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the receiving of the fetch command comprises: receiving, from the terminal, a status command on the each LSI of the at least one LSI; transmitting, to the terminal, a second message on the each LSI, the second message indicating that a proactive command is pending on the each LSI; and receiving, from the terminal, the fetch command on the each LSI. 7. The method of claim 5 , wherein the second information corresponds to LSI numbers indicating the at least one LSI. 8. The method of claim 5 , wherein the first information is included in a command details field of the first message, and wherein the response is transmitted on the each LSI. 9. A terminal in a wireless communication system, the terminal comprising: a transceiver; and a controller coupled with the transceiver and configured to: receive, from a universal integrated circuit card (UICC), a first message on a first logical secure element (SE) interface (LSI), the first message including first information indicating that an operation related to at least one LSI is required and second information indicating the at least one LSI, transmit, to the UICC, a fetch command on each LSI of the at least one LSI based on the first message, the fetch command being for acquiring a pending proactive command corresponding to the each LSI, receive, from the UICC, each proactive command on the each LSI of the at least one LSI, and transmit, to the UICC, a response to the each proactive command. 10. The terminal of claim 9 , wherein the controller is further configured to: transmit, to the UICC, a status command on the each LSI of the at least one LSI; receive, from the UICC, a second message on the each LSI, the second message indicating that a proactive command is pending on the each LSI; and transmit, to the UICC, the fetch command on the each LSI of the at least one LSI. 11. The terminal of claim 9 , wherein the second information corresponds to LSI numbers indicating the at least one LSI. 12. The terminal of claim 9 , wherein the first information is included in a command details field of the first message, and wherein the response is transmitted on the each LSI. 13. A universal integrated circuit card (UICC) of a terminal in a wireless communication system, the UICC comprising: a transceiver; and a controller coupled with the transceiver and configured to: transmit, to the terminal, a first message on a first logical secure element (SE) interface (LSI), the first message including first information indicating that an operation related to at least one LSI is required and second information indicating the at least one LSI, receive, from the terminal, a fetch command on each LSI of the at least one LSI based on the first message, the fetch command being for acquiring a pending proactive command corresponding to the each LSI, transmit, to the terminal, each proactive command on the each LSI of the at least one LSI, and receive, from the terminal, a response to the each proactive command. 14.
