Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A composite display device for an electronic gaming device includes a primary display device includes a first borderless edge and a secondary display device includes a second borderless edge. The composite display device also includes a housing for mounting the primary display device and the secondary display device, the primary display device being mounted with the first borderless edge adjacent to the second borderless edge of the secondary display device, thereby forming a display junction between the primary display device and the secondary display device. The composite display device further includes a touchscreen device for receiving touch input from a player of the electronic gaming device, the touchscreen device covering at least a portion of the primary display device and a portion of the secondary display device.

What is claimed is: 1. An electronic gaming device comprising: a first display device comprising a top edge, a first display surface, and a first display area; a second display device comprising a bottom edge, a second display surface, and a second display area, wherein the top edge of the first display device is offset a distance behind the bottom edge of the second display device to create a display junction between a top edge of the first display surface and a bottom edge of the second display surface; and a touchscreen device covering at least a portion of the first display area, a portion of the second display area, and the display junction, wherein the touchscreen device comprises a continuous surface and is configured to allow for gestures across the display junction from one of the first display area or the second display area to the other of the first display area or the second display area. 2. The electronic gaming device of claim 1 , wherein the electronic gaming device further comprises a gaming device housing for mounting the first display device and the second display device, and a button deck coupled to the gaming device housing positioned below the first and second display devices for receiving player inputs for game play on the electronic gaming device. 3. The electronic gaming device of claim 1 , wherein the touchscreen device comprises a single touchscreen surface layer covering substantially all of the first display area, substantially all of the second display area, and substantially all of the display junction such that the single touchscreen surface layer forms a concave-shaped area overlaying the display junction. 4. The electronic gaming device of claim 1 , wherein the second display device is mounted above the first display device, wherein the top edge of the first display device includes a first borderless edge of the first display device, and wherein the bottom edge of the second display device includes a second borderless edge of the second display device. 5. The electronic gaming device of claim 4 , wherein the top edge of the first display device is rearwardly offset by an offset distance behind the bottom edge of the second display device. 6. The electronic gaming device of claim 1 , further comprising a button deck display device, wherein the button deck display device is mounted adjacent the first display device, wherein the first display device meets the button deck display device at a second display junction, and wherein the touchscreen device covers at least a portion of the of the button deck display device. 7. The electronic gaming device of claim 1 , wherein the electronic gaming device further comprises at least one processor and at least one memory with instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to: receive, from the touchscreen device, an input indicative of a touch gesture beginning on a primary surface of the touchscreen device over the first display device, traversing across an arcuate surface over the display junction between the first display device and the second display device, and ending on a secondary surface of the touchscreen device over the second display device; and generate and transmit video output to the first display device and the second display device for display in response to the touch gesture. 8. The electronic gaming device of claim 7 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to: receive composite video output for an electronic game played at the electronic gaming device; divide the composite video output into a first video output and a second video output; and cause display of the first video output on the first display device and the second video output on the second display device. 9. The electronic gaming device of claim 8 , wherein dividing the composite video output includes: determining a first display resolution size for the first video output; identifying a first display region within the composite video output based on the first display resolution size; and using video data from the first display region of the composite video output as the first video output displayed on the first display device. 10. An electronic gaming system comprising: a first display device comprising a top edge, a first display surface, and a first display area; a second display device comprising a bottom edge, a second display surface, and a second display area, wherein the top edge of the first display device is offset a distance behind the bottom edge of the second display device to create a display junction between a top edge of the first display surface and a bottom edge of the second display surface; and a touchscreen device covering at least a portion of the first display area, a portion of the second display area, and the display junction, wherein the touchscreen device comprises a continuous surface and is configured to allow for gestures across the display junction from one of the first display area or the second display area to the other of the first display area or the second display area. 11. The electronic gaming system of claim 10 , wherein the electronic gaming system further comprises a gaming device housing for mounting the first display device, the second display device, and a button deck display device positioned below the first and second display devices for receiving player inputs for game play. 12. The electronic gaming system of claim 10 , wherein the touchscreen device comprises a single touchscreen surface layer covering substantially all of the first display area, substantially all of the second display area, and substantially all of the display junction such that the single touchscreen surface layer forms a concave-shaped area overlaying the display junction. 13. The electronic gaming system of claim 10 , wherein the second display device is mounted above the first display device, wherein the top edge of the first display device includes a first borderless edge of the first display device, and wherein the bottom edge of the second display device includes a second borderless edge of the second display device. 14. The electronic gaming system of claim 13 , wherein the top edge of the first display device is rearwardly offset by an offset distance behind the bottom edge of the second display device. 15. The electronic gaming system of claim 10 , wherein the first display device meets a button deck display device at a second display junction, and wherein the touchscreen device covers at least a portion of the of the button deck display device. 16. The electronic gaming system of claim 10 , wherein the electronic gaming system further comprises at least one processor and at least one memory with instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to: receive, from the touchscreen device, an input indicative of a touch gesture beginning on a primary surface of the touchscreen device over the first display device, traversing across an arcuate surface over the display junction between the first display device and the second display device, and ending on a secondary surface of the touchscreen device over the second display device; and generate and transmit video output to the first display device and the second display device for display in response to the touch gesture. 17. The electronic gaming system of claim 16 , wherein the instructions further cause the at least one processor to: receive composite video output for
