A display panel includes a peripheral region adjacent to a display region. The display region includes a hole peripheral region, and a recessed region is overlapped with the hole peripheral region. The display panel also includes a barrier layer with a penetrating opening overlapped with the recessed region, a circuit layer on the barrier layer and including a transistor and insulating layers, and a device layer including an organic light emitting area coupled to the circuit layer. In addition, a module hole is overlapped with the hole peripheral region and penetrates the base substrate, and a first groove is overlapped with the hole peripheral region and corresponds to a portion of the base substrate that is recessed from a top surface of the barrier layer and that encloses the module hole. The insulating layers include inorganic layers and an organic layer having side portions enclosing the module hole.

What is claimed is: 1. An electronic device including a display area, a hole area surrounded by the display area, and a hole peripheral area disposed between the display area and the hole area comprising: a transistor disposed in the display area; a light emitting element including a first electrode connected to the transistor, a light emitting layer, a second electrode, and a charge control layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode; an encapsulation layer including a first encapsulation inorganic layer covering the light emitting element, a second encapsulation inorganic layer, and an encapsulation organic layer disposed between the first encapsulation inorganic layer and the second encapsulation inorganic layer; a first groove disposed in the hole peripheral area; a dam portion disposed between the first groove and the hole area; and a second groove disposed between the dam portion and the hole area, wherein the encapsulation organic layer is disposed in an inside of the first groove and spaced apart from the second groove. 2. The display panel of claim 1 , further comprising at least one organic layer, and wherein the first groove and the second groove are defined by penetrating the at least one organic layer. 3. The display panel of claim 1 , wherein the first encapsulation inorganic layer covers the inside of the first groove and surrounds the encapsulation organic layer disposed in the inside of the first groove. 4. The display panel of claim 1 , wherein the first encapsulation inorganic layer and the second encapsulation inorganic layer contact each other in the hole peripheral area and cover the inside of the second groove. 5. The display panel of claim 1 , wherein the charge control layer is disconnected by the first groove and the second groove. 6. The display panel of claim 5 , wherein the first encapsulation inorganic layer covers the disconnected charge control layer. 7. The display panel of claim 1 , wherein the dam portion is covered by the first encapsulating inorganic layer. 8. The display panel of claim 1 , wherein the dam portion includes at least one of an inorganic layer, an organic layer, and a conductive layer. 9. The display panel of claim 1 , further comprising a module hole penetrating the hole area. 10. The display panel of claim 9 , further comprising a camera module overlapping the hole area. 11. The display panel of claim 9 , wherein the first groove and the second groove surround the module hole. 12. The display panel of claim 1 , further comprising an input sensing unit disposed directly on the encapsulation layer. 13. The display panel of claim 9 , wherein the dam portion surrounds the module hole. 14. The display panel of claim 1 , wherein a boundary of the encapsulation organic layer in the hole peripheral area is defined by the dam portion.
